THe trance that Tibb had found himself in was broken by Stripetail. He shook the cob webbs from his head & turned to look at Stripetail. "What was that?"

"I asked if you have any suggestions? We're trying to organize the defense of Redwall, and we'll gladly accept anyone's comments' Stripetail walked over next to Tibbarius and looked at the portrait of Martin. "That is Martin the Warrior, one of the founders of this abbey and one of the greatest heroes in history. You were staring very intently at it Tibbarius, almost as though you were in a trance, or perhaps Martin was speaking with you. Did you see Martin Tibbarius?' Lord Stripetail

"He speaks to beasts? Although I did feel a presence. " He let out a deep sigh. "So you are working on a defence plan?"

Yes, And I'd like your input. Come with me. " Stripetail led Tibbarius into Cavern Hole. There was a table set up, and sitting around the table were Sophia, Father Abbot, Gridell, a hare, the Mother badger, and a few others. There were a few open chairs, spread around the table. "Pick a seat Tibbarius, whereever you choose to sit .' Stripetail said as he walkedaround the the end of the table. Stripetail's eyes gleamed, as all eyes looked at him. "Creatures of Redwall, and valued guests, we have carried the first day. We have honored the tradition of this abbey, that Redwallers can prove to be formidable foes when besieged. However, this battle is FAR from over. Despite the many casualities we have inflicted, Rhita still enjoys a great advantage in numbers. The vermin in her horde are far better trained and far more experienced in battle than our young defenders. We must continue to train them as quickly as possible, we may not have another victory like today for a long time. So i propose we select leaders amongst thoose gathered here to lead our defense. If you ask me to be one of those, I will gladly accept. Now, let's begin planning for the days and weeks ahead. Tibbarius, Sophia, Father Abbot, anyone, who wants to start the discussion?" Tibb did find a seat but he stayed standing while Stripetail spoke. He then cleared his throat. "I may know what their next plan of attack may be. I think they are going to attempt to scale the walls."

"Yes, they tried that today, and they will try to do it again. But we have guards on every side of the abbey, so even if they do try again, we'll be ready for them. Remember, the Abbey walls are high, so climbing them is a risk. If they fail to scale it or are knocked off, they have a good ways to fall. I doubt Rhita is planning to attack us that way. She may try to cut off the roads leading to the abbey, in other words try to starve us out. Or she may try to dig underneath the abbey and get in that way. She has any number of ways of attempting to get in." Stripetail replied. "A good thoery through Tibbarius." Lord Stripetail

"True that the walls are high & very tough to scale. However all I have heard of this Rhita is that she is very cunning. My thought was she could send more beasts to scale then she did today. With those arrows flying constantly & the threat of the walls being climbed. It could cause a great diversion. Drawing more beats to one wall. thinning the defences of the other walls."

Yes, that is a possibility Tibbarius. she may indeed send more. But considering the high casuality rate amoung the vermin who attempted to climb the walls today, she'll probably think twice about doing it again, at least in the short-term. I personally think she'll try another tactic, perhaps digging her way under the wall. But the fact remains that we must be ready for anything, she may try to scale the walls And dig underneath them. Considering the large advantage in numbers she still has over us, she may try something like that." Lord Stripetail

Knowing he did not have anything new to add the the discussion Tibb sat down. It was not long before his mind started trailing back the warrior mouse in the painting.

Stripetail rapped his paw on the table to stir Tibbarius. "even if you have nothing more to say Tibbarius, please try to pay attention and not let your mind wander. if you don't, you may miss something important.' he turned towards the others. Does anyone else have a suggestion?" Lord Stripetail

"Sorry, meant no disrespect. Nor would I have missed something. Although my mind wandered momentarily I was still listening."

'That's alright Tibb. I know meetings like this can be tedious, and frankly, boring, but in this case we are discussing very important matters. So it is essential that we pay attention to what others are saying." Lord Stripetail

Very Well then Tibb." Stripetail repiled as he took a seat next to father abbott. " in the meantime, let's sellect leaders. I propose leaders for milatary purposes, for maintaining morale among the defenders. Let's say 5 leaders in total." Lord stripetail

"I know that few of our number in redwall are skilled in the art of war so I propose that our newcomers become the leaders Stripetail, Sophia, Tibarius, Gridell and Eugene please accept these positions you are our most skilled warriors and know of warfare " All the redwallers at the table agreed with their abbots suggestion as did both Sophia and Gridell and Eugene decided he "Absolutely must protect the tuck wot wot"
(ooc I named the hare Eugene just in case neone got confused )
