The high wind caught the mists that day, sending it in every direction, swirling in hypnotic patterns, never settling to sleep on the path. That day.The day he came. It had been silent, empty, deserted, not even Zodiac was there. Never-less, four leopards, strode on, each arrying a bamboo handle. Linking them to the carpet on which Kandrakar himself perched. His fur was matted. his maw torn, and his velvet robe was caked in dirt.

llOrD Tarraus flew through the air, scanning the misty landscape. Kandrakar was here somewhere, or so he had been told.

Kiro squinted up at the raptor "Excuse me! kind sir! would you know of any where to accomadate a king?" the other three watched Tarraus in an appealing manor while Kandrakor brushed a sore wound on his paw with his tongue.

'a king?' Tarraus replied (Tarraua is an eagle BTW). "He swooped down and looked at Kandrakor, who did not present a regal presence. 'There is an old abbey down the road a bitt, called Destor Abbey. It hasn't been lived in for awhile, but its the best place you're likely to find for a good distance."

Kandrakar looked up weakly at the eagle and smiled sheepishly, as the four leopards dropped each handle, gazing into the center as a blue beam yawned on the tiger, immediately his scars disappeared and his purple robe wa replaced with a red. His face lit up as the spell faded "thankyou, lord....?" he studied the bird closely, trying to place a dubbance to his face "Tarraus?"

"Yes' Tarraus' replied. "there is more to you then I thought. I'll lead you to the abbey' (BTW, if you want to use magic, you first have to give your character a rating. The scale we use here runs from 1 to 5 with 1 being the strongest and 5 being the weakest. very few are of Level 1 caliber, so you know. You can be in between levels as well, if you are a weak level you use a -, if you are strong you use a +.There is a full listing of the different rankings in the Deepwood thread, its at the bottom of the screen. hope that helps)

(the full list is on page 12 of the deepwood thread. but here's a basic outline level 1- Extremely Powerful. Very few reach this level example-lord Stripetail level 2- Very Powerful. it is rare to reach this level example- Rufe donovan(headmaster) Level 3- average to powerful highest that most creatures reach. Level 4 weak to average most creatures fall in this level Level 5 powerless to weak creatures without magic or green novices fall in here
Remember your character can be borderline. For example, if my character is a strong 3, than his rank would be 3+. If he is weak 2 than 2-. )

((I think, Kandrakar himself should be level 1, the leopards would be about 3+...I think)) The leopards regained hold of each handel, carrying the carpet majestically now, as Kandrakar's crystal blue eyes surveyed the surrounding terrain.

(that sounds fair, after all he is ruler of several realms. But don't go overboard, we had problems with rapant magic use awhile ago, and I don't want that to happen again.) Tarraus flew in front as the leopards followed a well-worn path with stopped at an old stone abbey. The front wall of the abbey was crumbling and the wooden door was cracked and had holes in the top and side. Tarraus swooped inside . near the enterance of the abbey stood a large squirrell , who smiled as he saw Tarraus this was lord Stripetail. The leopards stopped as they caught sight of stripetail. "Kandrakar of the Five realms, Sire" Tarraus whispered in his ear.

Kiro hissed something to Tagona, obviously about stripetail because Kandrakar threw him a warning glare. He clapped his paws together and, simultaniously, the leopards lowered the carpet. As Kandrakar stepped onto the gravel they assembled at either side of him, the two females, and the two males. Kandrakar smiled at them, obviously impressed. Then he opened his maw to speak "Lord Stripetail, I am arresting you under suspicion of murder, you may not say anything, anything you do say will heklp your defense at court tomorrow" he paused, blue eyes piercing, watching the squirrel intensely.

Hellkar, the evil magician fox that had been defeated by Stripetail stood silently in the shadows near by. Did he hear that correctly? Stripetail was under arrest. It was all Hellkar could do to refrain from doing a jig of delight. This was a good day!

"Murder?' The Squirrell eyes gleamed. "Kandrakar, I have been responsible for many deaths over the years, but you have no authority to arrest me here. We are not in your domain, remember." His response took Kandrakar by surprise. "I am not someone you want as an enemy Kandrakar, arresting me will only ensure my hostility to you. " Stripetail's eyes, glinted as he looked at kandraka. "At any rate, Tarraus would not hsave lead you here if he had known your intentions. Tarraus flew down in the Kandrakor's face, a look of fury on his face. "How dare you! His lordship is a great being, and a great Seer! Yet you come on his lands and accuse him of murder? If you try and take him, it will be the last thing you ever do, Kandrakor, I assure you of that" "Enough Tarraus' Stripetail's voice cut in. "By rights Kandrakor, you must inform me of the exact charges against me, and who is responsible for the claim against me." His voice grew cold. and the strange staff in his hands glowed.

He chuckled "Stripetail, you must be one of the best yet!" he grinned, gently pushing Tarraus away from his face "Of course you're not under arrest, I am honoured to have you in my kingdom" he bowed, the back of his now red robe showing, before he rose again "If there's anyone who'll be arrested its Deren..." he paused, glaring up at the seer "and you young fox if you do not retreat" he warned, the leopards talking amongst themselves secretively.

Stripetail face broke into a smile "Then why the accusation?"

He shook his head "A mere test, I wanted to see if I could trust you with plans and secrets, or if you seemed guilty for any reason, obviously not" he held out his paw to the squirrel who was a head shorter than him.
