I travel all over, indeed there are very few places I have not visited mam. This isand is realatively isolated, but I managed to find. I was walking along when I found your son trapped n the mud, and I pulled him out. I offered to take him home, but he couldn't remember exactly where it was. So I guessed, and ran into your husband."

Lufinda nodded as she led Stripetail to a small cot. "I offer you thanks and shelter. You can stay here for the night. 'Tis only a few hours before dawn, but it'll be good to get at least a little sleep, won't it?"

Lufinda smiled as she gave Stripetail some blankets and a small moss-filled pillow. "I'll see you when I wake up." she murmured as she blew out the seashell lamp gingerly.

Stripetail's staff let off a soft glow as he arranged his bed. After he was finished, He extinguished his staff, and got into bed. He quickly fell asleep. He awoke a few hours later, the early morning light shone in his eyes.

A pretty young ferret greeted Stripetail as he awoke. " Good mornin' traveler, did you sleep well? I'm Kimbla, the chief's assistant's daughter. You can call me Kim if you want. Our Awakening Ceremony will begin shortly, so I would highly reccommend freshening up by the well outside. You want to look your best, don't you?" She smiled as she pointed towards the back of the hut. "The well's back there."

"Thank you." Stripetail went outside and there indeed was a well . sitting next to the well was a bucket tied to a rope. He picked up the bucket and used the rope to lower it into the well. After waiting a few minutes until it reached the bottom of the well, he began pulling the bucket up. After a few minutes he pulled out the bucket, which was now filled with water. he dipped his paws into the water to wash them. The water was cold to the touch, but he dumped the bucket over himself, letting the water wash away the dirt he had picked up in his travels.

"That drum must be the signal for the start of the ceremony. " Stripetail thought. He shook the water from his clothes and began walking towards the center of the village.

The Chief was standing in the village square, beating the drum in an odd rythym before a noisy crowd, all wearing the same rough green or blue fabric that the Chief was. He stopped beating and put his hands in the air as Stripetail approached. The crowd instantly quieted.
"We have a visitor to our village." Chief yelled to the hushed crowd, "A rare event indeed, isn't it?"
The crowd all looked around, trying to figure out who it was. Then a young male ferret spotted Stripetail. "He's the visitor!" he yelled in a high, squeaky voice, "Over there!"
Chief nodded. "Yes... he rescued my son from the swamps! Everyone, please welcome Lord Stripetail!"
The crowd cheered and clapped, staring in awe at Stripetail's nice clothes and magic staff.

Stripetail smiled and waved to the crowd. "tHank you , thank you, I just did what any other good creature would do". He said sheepishly.

The chief nodded. "Off you go now! Brakfast with your family and friends today!
The crowd dispersed quickly, allowing Kim to walk up to Stripetail. "The elders and assistants eat over here." She pointed to a large thatched hut decorated more than the other smaller ones. "We never have any visitors, so you'll probably get the honor of eating in there."

The Chief and several elders were waiting inside for Stripetail; when he walked in the badger exclaimed, "Ah! here is our guest of honor!" and beckoned for a servant to enter. The first servant was followed by many others each holding a small dish of some sort. "Please sit down." Cheif said while motioning toward an empty chair.
