OOC: Kk.
The wolf's experienced and instinctive senses told him the weasel had climbed above him, judging by the vibrations and sound. He did not move position, continuing to tease the weasel. "I don't need to do anything unless you do. And right now it looks like you're too scared."

She bared her fangs as she shifted the dagger into her preferred hold. The weasel took no time for speach before she threw the dagger at the wolf, taking only enough time to aim its path towrds a nonvital area, somewhere she guessed an arm or leg would be. It was hard to tell when the gray thing was just laying there, made it look like one lump. A second after the first dagger left her paw, the one from around her ribs replaced it as she waited to see if the gray lump would respond. Eager to see how it would respond.

The wolf's eyes did not open, his expression had not changed. He might've been sleeping had not his left claw catch the knife in a flash of silver fur. The fingers held the flat sides of the blade while the sharp edge dangled in the breeze harmlessly. Taking the weapon and sticking it into the tree's thick bark, the sleeping wolf spoke finally. "Too predictable. You need to have to element of surprise, young one," he said, getting more comfortable against the tree.

Ritari wrinkled her nose and poked her tongue out in an act of immature defiance. The wolf wasn't looking at her, so he wouldn't have seen it. Not that she cared if it - he, the tone of his voice gave him away as a male - thought she was juvenile, chldish, inexperienced, tempermental and predictible. She didn't care at all. And she was trying to convince herself of that. It's not like she was trying to surprise him. She never had prided herself on her element of surprise. It had never mattered, due to the fact she had learned to out-muscle and out-speed her sparring partners. Having someone new to spar with - no matter how much more experienced - was exciting.
Or it would be if he would do anything other than lay there. She growled in annoyance and bounced on her branch, sending an onslaught of leaves floating down onto the wolf. No, she wasn't going for surprise, she was trying to provoke him. And it wasn't working.
"Well, what use is surprise against a beast that's old enough to be my grandfather, and thus has seen it all? There's probably nothing I could do that would surprise you," she sniffed, keeping an eye on him while browsing the area around. It was just a bunch of trees. And trees meant...she smiled wickedly and skittered up a little higher. Her paw disappeared into a knotty hole in the tree, and soon she was aiming nuts at the wolf's head. Might as well have some fun of my own, then, she throught as she started unleasing an unrelenting chain of nuts at the irritating gray creature.

OOC: I'm trying to keep it from your char's point of view a bit, and not much insight into my char.
The leaves and nuts fell gracefully, arcing in the soft wind flowing through the foliage. Sunlight glittered through the leaves, twisting and turning to race the plummetting objects to the tree limb, but once they reached the destination, there was only that. A tree limb.
The wolf was hanging upside-down, his foreclaws dug into the branch's side and his boots holding on tight. The beast was looking straight ahead at the moss-laden trunk, his water-like eyes unmoving. He slowly let go, bending until the mottled creature was completely vertical, only his booted footclaws pressing against the bark to keep him up. The gray ears almost whisked the soft ground, moving slightly as they picked up various sounds and movements. "Well, you're not going to kill anyone like that, sweetheart."
OOC: Muahahaha RP pwnage.

( OOC: If you really want to keep me from knowing too much about your character, you should do a better job of hiding character descriptions. But I'll, ah, keep the information I dug up to myself and not let little weasel make any smart accidental comments. *cough* I swear I don't research...don't look at me like that! )
Ritari groaned in frustration as her efforts landed on a bare branch. This wolf was going to driver her crazy. She slid the dagger back into its place. Stuffing a decent sized ammo stock of nuts into various pockets, she dropped heavily and withintent onto the branch he had just been occupying. Digging her own tiny claws into the branch, she stuck her head underneath, light eyes narrowed at him. Would he never look at her? She snorted. How irritating. And did he just call her - he did!
Malice glittered across her face as she bounced on the branch in increased agitation. This gray thing! She fished around for a small pawful of nuts and began lobbing them at him again. "Your ma should tweak your ears for irritating little girls. Didn't you ever learn to treat us like dainty little flowers...or something?" She punctuated various words with nuts, effectively creating an oddly melodic rhythm between her voice and the sound of air rushing past the tiny missles.

OOC: No, I just mean his all of his thoughts and stuff, like you're doing with your char. Very realistic portaying, by the way The traveler had no need to attempt and dodge the projectiles flying at him because the weasel's landing had shaken him from his post. Putting his arms out, the aged wolf felt his palms hit the already-close forest floor, and with the balanced skill, he pushed back and vertical, coming to land rightside-up on the ground, his boots sliding back a little. Rising to full height, the gray beast averted his eyes from the beast above him but sneered, fangs shining. "Well, you're not going to let me rest, are you?"

( OOC: Ah. Well, I'm glad you like my style. I don't realize how I type things, kinda stream-of-consciousness thing. So to hear it works is a great compliment. ) She had run out of nuts, content for the moment after he fell to simply throw them and hear them thwak against the tree. The weasel retrieved the dagger the wolf had lodged into the tree. It took her several tugs to get it out, and even then the opposite force sent her nearly off the branch. She looked down at the wolf quickly, and was relieved to see he wasn't looking. He probably heard her small tumble, but she didn't think of that. Tucking the dagger into a sleeve, Ritari slid off the branch. A small cloud of dust and leaves circled the spot where her feet landed, knees bent slightly to distribute the shock. After the moment of tingly landing had passed, she straighted out - coming to under the wolf's shoulders. She blanced at that, noting with annoyance that once again she was horrendously shorter. But the annoyance fled at the sight of his sneer. Her responce was merely to grin with childish delight and giggle behind a paw. She had done it! The beast was annoyed...slightly. But there was emotion. Fighting the urge to point that out, she settled for sending another nut at his snout. "Absolutely not! I am far too full of dibbun energy and mischievous will," her words took a mocking tone, due to him having called her one earlier.

OOC: ...Evaaal.
The grin faded, becoming the uncaring line it had been moments ago. Still, the wolf's eyes had not moved, mixed upon the brown-gray trunk while his enemy landed beside him. Although the creature appeared calm, his muscles were tensing up for a powerful move. This was the weasel's point of failure, if she did not prove competent. The beast spoke, his voice slightly dry, but also, a little bit...strained. "Of course."
Then, with a speed quite unlike that of the previously slumbering creature, the wolf's body was contorted, twisting in what seemd to be between a jump and a somersault. His right leg was coming at the weasel from above, ready to crush down upon the young fighter. If it struck, it would almost certainly kill her. But if she was indeed swift...

Her habit of watching faces had always paid off, and it did not fail her now. The moment his grin slipped away, Ritari's mirth followed. She took a deep breath and let her annoyance go with it. The weasel may have the worst temper of anyone she'd ever met, but she knew when she had to let it go. Now was probably one of the better times. Curious as to the power behind those haunting eyes, she felt her entire body tense in anticipation. His strained words only confirmed what she hoped. Her village elder had always used the same tone right before -
His speed at executing the move rivaled her attention span, so she had next to no time to size up what he was actually doing. With only time to react, she bolted forward and under the wolf's body, for once thankful of her height. If she had been only a few inches taller, she would have had to flee backwards.
Backwards! The wolf was behind her now! The weasel spun and slipped partially on the leaves. She cursed unhappily at them. She was used to sand, not leaves. She used her new momentum from the forward slip to launch herself at the wolf's back, merely intending to grab ahold of him piggy-back style.

The tall beast felt his footclaw slam hard onto the ground, so hard that he felt little aftershock. The wolf was low on the ground, his right leg streched out and the left bent beneath him. After taking a moment to notice the large dent in the soft dirt, the pale eyes moved around to find the weasel nowhere in sight. She slipped under me, the wolf thought. But this thought was interrupted by a swish of air from behind, and he ducked even lower in an attempt to prevent his opponent striking.
OOC: See ya', I'll be on later.

( OOC: Later ) Noting the wolf duck lower, her face twisted into disappointment. Too high to land on him, she contented herself to reaching out and shoving her paws down onto the highest part of him - probably his back - and using him as a vaulting board. She flipped in the air so that when she landed she would be facing him. Once again the swirl of dust and leaves as she landed softly; but she did not stay on the ground for long. The instant she felt the ground, she sprang off it and at the wolf again, her face reverting into a delighted, foolish look. Still she had no weapons out, as was her preferred style. But at the moment she was not fighting, but playing much like a child would. Roughousing.

The wolf was, at first, confident that the weasel would sail over him. But in a surge of surprise, the beast felt two soft paws land on his back sturdily then contract, probably to jump back or over him. In any case, by the imbalance of weight, the beast was pushed sideways and lay sprawled on the ground. But instead of a snarl, there was a grin on his features.

She hadn't expected her tiny push-off to send the much heavier wolf to the ground. So in her mid-leap, she tried to adjust for that...but couldn't. The weasel landed heavily on top of the wolf, her usual soft landing thrown off by her surprise. "Ooof," the air rush out of her lungs as she landed wrong. She grumbled as she sucked in air and squirmed her way into a more comfortable position, ending up in a pinning move.
"Well," she wheezed slightly, wanting to rub her ribs. She'd landed on something hard attached to his belt, "I'd say I have you pinned...but I doubt I could keep you down if you wanted up." A sigh signified that she had caught her breath and given up on pinning him. Instead, she reached up and tweaked his left ear. "There! Now remember - be nice to girls or I'll have to do that again." An impish grin crossed her muzzle as she waited on his response.
( OOC: I'll go ahead and say this now since I tend to get carried away typing...if my character ever goes on too long, feel free to "interrupt" her actions. For example...if Mr. Wolf here [guessing Xylon is his name?] decided to buck her off the moment he felt her on his back, then don't worry that I had her chatter...just ignore that. )

OOC: So about how tall is Ritari? Just over 5ft or something?
For a moment the wolf was silent, his pale eyes staring up into the sunlit canopy. Then the small grin increased until it broke into a chuckle, and the beast closed his eyes for a moment. This weasel was very...unique.
