[ ooc: *smirks and steps off* Much better, my pet...er, I mean...uh...fellow...er...companion... ]
Ritari didn't seem to mind the somewhat awkward position they were in. If anything, she probably failed to notice. The weasel squirmed in his arms, trying to get her claws into his chest, stomach, anything, but couldn't. "I am no kid, wolf. And my name is Ritari," she said it with pride, though she still struggled against the restraint he posed.

OOC: *Twitches on the ground spamsically* Uh...aha...aaah...
The veteran smirked. Finally, he pondered, she'd given in. His claws retracted and loosened, allowing the wriggling rodent to move away. "And, Ritari, what are you doing out here in the woodlands?" he asked, shifting into a more comfortable sitting position.

She didn't move far, just onto the ground, though directly next to him. The weasel turned to stare defiantly up at him. "Nuh uh, your name first. I am not telling you anything else until you tell me something."

He decided to try a different tactic. Baring his fangs again, the wolf's eyes resumed their normal cold stare, his face devoid of all emotion. Bringing in close to the weasel's but slightly higher, the traveler looked down menacingly upon the headstrong beast. "Tell me your reasons for being here," he said, snarling, "or I will rip you limb from limb and take that miserable morass in your head and stuff it down your pitiful throat before I boil you in your own blood!" The pale eyes shifted over the weasel's features, waiting for a reaction. Maybe I laid it on a little too thick...

Ritari had seen this beast leap from a tree and into a pile of leaves. She wasn't scared of him. Okay, maybe a little, she admitted to herself as soon as she felt a tiny peak churn in her stomach. She blinked slowly at his words, transfixed by those eyes for a few seconds. Then she stretched languidly on the ground, from pawtip to tailtip. Her eyes lidded over, taking on an almost exotic quality in the light. She tipped her head up, pressing her nose against his, then snorted. "You would not."

The wolf pushed forward, pressing the weasel's head toward the ground. "I would," he hissed indifferently. "I've done it before." But the snarl had disappeared, and the aged beast was now looking off into the sunlight and trees, reminiscing on past battles.

Ritari raised a paw to brush against his face, then tapped the back of her paw against his cheek a little forcefully. "Look at me," she hissed right back. "I will not tell you again. And just because you've done something once, twice, a thousand times, doesn't mean you're going to do it now. You wont do it to me," she emphasized.

The weasel was going to drive him mad. So, she was willing to bet her life he cared about her? The wolf hastily slipped out the vial he had told the young one was fever medicene, and popped the cap off, holding the small bottle in the light and illuminating the dark liquid. "What do you think this is," he growled.

She eyed the bottle, seeing the deep red liquid glide around i nthe glass vile. She raised one shoulder in a partial shrug. "Fever medicine," she replied glibly. Her eyes reflected the sun, making her seem her few seasons: wide-eyed and trusting.

OOC: This or next post will be last for night The sharp inscisors came back into view as the wolf snapped back at her. "Cat blood." Then, the beast decided to step past the line, maybe beyond fixing. Either way, the weasel would learn. "I'm no warrior," he barked at her fiercely. "I'm a murderer. And assassin. I follow no code on honour."

[ ooc: I agree, though I hoped your next post would be your last for tonight. *sobs* ]
The weasel shifted uncomfortably under his suddenly intense gaze, merely blinking when he told her it was cat blood. Confused, it took her a moment to remember her mother telling her tales of those who keep throphies of their conquests. Okay, no big deal. On to the next bit of information. This wolf...this beast practically on top of her was a killer. Ritari shifted again. She had never killed anyone, having had a code of honor battered into her. Her eyes widened a bit more. He was like the other one with blue eyes.
But...he wasn't. He had been fun...when he wasn't being boring. The other beast had been all black and night and smelled of death and screams. This wolf wasn't like that. He was...soft, a little musty...but not a cold-blooded killer. Even though he said he was. She decided to test that.
A delicate paw lifted to his face again, tracing his face as she brought her dangerously closer. "Then why haven't you killed me yet?" she articulated every word softly, "You've had plenty of chances..."

OOC: ...I still don't know what the >.> means...Feel free to join, but I don't know what twists the storyline will make of that...*Looks over in corner to see wolf slipping out multiple knives*
The wolf paused, closing his eyes momentarily as the paw brushed his features. A moment of calm past, but when the cold eyes opened, they were no different. The predatorial instincts galvanized into action, and the traveler snapped out at the weasel's paw. "I'm a wolf, fool," he growled, but now in very low vibrations, "I've killed children, I've killed warriors and I've killed elderly ones. Nothing can change that. Now why are you out here?"

[ ooc: I don't care. Probably save Ritari from being even more...foolish. >> ]
[ oh, and >> indicates shifty eyes. Or at least they do in my mind. ]
She waved her paw away as he snapped, tapping the underside of his muzzle and letting her paw drop before he could do anything to it. She narrowed her eyes back at him, her own vermin instincts starting to rise up. "Yes," her voice started to imitate his, dropping into a soft, pleasing growl, "Nothing can change that. But I reiterate - why haven't you killed me yet if you weren't intending to do so?" She gave him a challenging look, as if daring him to do something.
[Looks like the plot ain't gonna move until one of them gives in... ]

OOC: ...God damnit.
The veteran sat there, his pale eyes blazing into the weasel's. Then, after several seconds' tenseness, he gave a growl of resentment and fell back into the browning leaves, closing his eyes again. "I give up," the wolf finally spoke, in a slightly less hostile voice, "You're too innocent and headstrong."
OOC: Ritari gets awkward situations from her being immature, my char feels awkward at simply positive feelings...*Thinks of explosions*
