[ ooc: for now at least, I'd like this thread to just be Xylon. As soon as I'm okay with other people joining, I'll say so. If anyone else wants a private thread...ask me. >> ]
Ritari stretched her arm in various ways like she'd been told to do. Her arm was fine, the injury hadn't effected her use of it at all. That in mind, it had only been several days since she was admitted to the Abbey. It was exciting being somewhere new, but someone had never come to visit her after leaving with no goodbye. She stretched again, shouldered her sack and loped away from the Abbey. She'd left a note explaining that she had a matter to take care of and she'd be back soon.
About a day later, the weasel reached the edge of Mossflower, as she'd been told the woods were called. The area looked familiar, about where she'd first entered the forest. She hadn't encountered the wolf yet, and she'd made good ground in a day. She pouted and picked a tree to sit under, pulling out a scone and biting into it bitterly. If she didn't see any sign of the wolf in another day or so, she was going back to the Abbey.

OOC: This'll be my second-to-last post tonight (on this thread), I have to get up at 4am for school field trip, but I'll post again then.
Having nowhere to go and nothing to do, Xylon was slumped against a brown-gray tree trunk, dozing the day away. Not many creatures had passed that way, and most that did hadn't made it far. His silvery fur stood up a bit in the soft breezes, just as the remainder of the old leaves bounced and twirled down the worn traveling path. The wolf lay on the lee side of the path, just in case, but didn't consider any possible passerbys to be threats. The aged creature sighed in his sleep, unawares of all around him, though there wasn't much to look at; a graying sky, slightly cool weather...not the best day for a picnic.

The weasel finished the scone and stood again, going through the stretches out of habit already. She slung the sack over her shoulder again and kept walking. After a few minutes, Ritari froze, nose tilting up to scent the wind a little better. There! That smelled familiar! She grinned impishly and followed the scent, taking only a small amount of care to tread lightly.
A few minutes later and she saw the silver of his fur. Certain he had heard her, she walked right up to him and sat down directly in front of him, waiting patiently.

The muffled noises beat into his senses, and Xylon blinked, turning his head to a blurry russet figure in front of him. As his eyes adjusted to the light, he realized it was the weasel. "Ritari...!" Quickly casting his eyes downward, the wolf turned a light shade of red. He was extremely embarrassed and ashamed to being caught by her, since he had injured her accidentally not so long ago.
OOC: Night, Darkaire-Senpai!

The weasel smiled, glad to see the wolf wasn't angry at her finding him. And he remembered her name, which made her oddly happy. She stuck out her arm so he could not only see the bandage, but the mobility of her limb. "Look, I can move it like normal!"
Her grin twitched, then faded quickly as she added, "And why haven't you come to see me? Why'd you leave so quickly?"

OOC: YAY! *Starts rolling around randomly*
The wolf swallowed, choosing his words carefully. "Well, Ritari...I didn't figure I'd see you again. I mean, I travel a lot, and by the time I get back to places, a whole generation sometimes passes. I have a very long life; I don't treat meeting a beast the same way you do." He shuffled uncomfortably at this, supposing she wouldn't find this answer appealing.

[ ...why are you yay-ing? "chan" is used for younger girls... >> ]
He was right about her not liking his answer. She crossed her arms, giving him a fierce look. "Yeah, well, most beasts you meet you end up killing, don't you? How many do you meet that you don't kill? Do you even know how to treat those few? You're still a day's walk from where we met. You haven't traveled very far at all!" She huffed.

OOC: ...*Squeezes Darkaire's cheeks* BLARG!
The solitary wolf was annoyed by her lecture but bristled at the last comment, turning indignant quickly. "On the contrary, I traveled quite far," he said, shaking his soft fur of crumbled leaves, "And I was coming back to start heading south." Then, whisking his attention to the first comments, Xylon narrowed his eyes, flustered thoroughly. "I have a brain, dibbun, I don't go killing creatures randomly. Besides, I didn't even know where you were!"

[ ooc: *sniffles and hides* So mean... ]
She refused to show how she really felt about his outburst, choosing instead to scowl, tone clipped. "You may not go around killing randomly, but you sure don't go around chatting them up, either." He had shown interest and now he wasn't following up on it, which irritated her. "And where else would I have gone? Oh, maybe the large red place close enough for a short walk. Maybe somewhere that could help me with your little gift," her tone turned malicious on the last word, referring to her arm. She was getting angry again, and wasn't about to curb anything to be polite. "And I am not a dibbun," the weasel spat, racting the same way to that as always.

OOC: *Walks around with anesthetic injector* Come here, Senpai...here Senpai...
The jaws snapped once, clenched rows of inscisors grinding. The contemptuous wolf rose, brushing his coat off even more. "You cry when you're injured," he barked roughly, "And that most certainly is Dibbun behavior." Xylon was getting increasingly angry with Ritari, mostly because of her nerve. She was talking down to him, a much older fighter and traveler with many seasons' experience.

[ ooc: forgot to mention I'd be scarce for a few days... *suddenly screams* NEEDLE! *runs* ]
"Well, sorry for not liking to hide my feelings! I cry when things hurt, and I smile when I'm happy. It's just who I am. Just because you don't cry doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, you just don't show it because you want to appear strong," she took a breath and continued, ignoring his bared teeth. "As long as I know I am strong, I don't feel the need to hide that things hurt. You may impress people with your quiet, demeaning, hurtful actions and words, but you don't fool me. Every beast has a heart, no matter how deeply they bury it," as if to prove her point, she risked a paw by sticking it out and jabbing him in the chest with it.
"So don't try to be all high and mighty with me. You showed me that you have one, and I wont soon be forgetting that."

OOC: *Gives chase* MUAHAHA!
Xylon rolled his eyes again, closing his mouth. There was just no getting through to this creature. He stabbed her in the arm and she still thought he "had a heart". She really was innocent. But that was neither good nor bad. "Not all creatures have a heart, Ritari," he said finally, though he knew she would deny it. This weasel would drive him mad.

[ ooc: screams until hoarse, but continues to run franticly* ]
The weasel snorted and looked away, feeling her eyes burn slightly. It wouldn't do to get upset in front of the wolf. He'd just call her names. Really, why was she was bothering with him anyway? He obviously didn't want her around, and he only made her frustrated. But he was the first creature out of her village to show her any sort of kindness, or at least tolerance. And all the Abbey beasts were so nice it was boring.
"Fine, I'll play along with that. But even if all beasts don't, you do. If you were heartless, you would have killed me by now simply for irritating you. There has to be some reason you haven't killed me yet," she said this while looking away, thinking that the wolf was certainly the most confusing beast she'd met in a long, long while.
[ ooc: feel free to attack her, do whatever. Anything but kill, you have my permission. ]

OOC: KK. *Gets tired of running and hooks injector onto arrow, notches onto bow and aims* Lol. Run, run asfastasyoucan!
Xylon's left eye twitched along with the corner of his mouth. He hated it when she kept trying to convince herself he wasn't evil. Within moments, he gave into the anger and smacked out at the weasel's face with the back of his claw, snarling.
OOC: Why do you want me to hurt your characters? WHY?

[ ooc: *tries to scream, but has lost her voice. starts trying to dig a hole to hide in* ]
The weasel stared at him for a moment, the shock preventing the pain from fully hitting her. A tiny paw lifted to her cheek, and when she pulled it back, she was greeted with a tiny spot of crimson. Then the pain hit her. Her eyes watered, but she blinked them away. It wasn't a bad cut, but it stung something awful. "If you're just going to be like that, then fine. Be stubborn," she snarled softly. She watched him cautiously as she groomed the still-wet blood from her paw, making a face at the metallic taste.
[ ooc: well, it makes it more realistic. I mean, Xylon wouldn't just sit there with Ritari yakkign at him. He'd try to attack her. ]
