Henrak answered for his newfound ally. "My name is Henrak Trueflight." He replied absent-mindedly, slightly startled by the sudden arrival of the otters. It seemed Redstripe was well known in these parts, whereas he had never ventured this way before.

Henrak smiled and nodded. "Nice to meet you, Hitchaw." He replied, looking around to see how many otters there were. "So there's a river or stream nearby?" He asked, making the assumption from the presence of the otters. This might be a good chance to stock up on my water supplys, perhaps fish for some supplys... He thought.

"Nope...we're tree otters!" Hitchaw laughed a little,"Course theres a river. Its about a half days march, and its near Redwall." He smiled,"So yer welcome to come and rest at the holt."
"Sounds like a good plan ta me." Redstripe stretched and grabbed his axe and pack."I'm all packed an ready to go." He walked over to the grave and bowed his head in respect.

Henrak nodded, though he was a little uncomfortable. He was unused to other beasts company, usually keeping to himself. Though these otters seemed good, honest creatures at least.

Hitchaw and the otters led way to the holt, by the time they arrived it was supper time."Ope you like Hotroot Soup, Hotroot shrimp, and whatever else they cooked up with Hotroot." Hitchaw laughed and entered the holt followed by Redstripe and the otters.

Henrak chuckled nervously at Hitchaw's joke. He had tried some hotroot soup once before, when he was younger and living in his old village. Though tasty, it had been the spiciest thing he'd ever tasted. But any food was better than none, and he followed the otters into the holt.

"Don't worry mate." Redstripe looked over at Henrak,"They serve more then just Otroot soup here. They always got some beast or another hear who don't like it." As he spoke they entered the mess hall, and there was a variety of beasts besides otters."This is a usual stop and rest place for beasts on their way to or from Redwall."

"Glad to hear it." Smiled Henrak. He looked around, waiting to see what the order of things was in the holt when it came to mealtimes. He didn't want to look to out of place.

"The dibbuns, the elder, and the sick go first mate." He turned to Redstripe,"An yer not that old yet." He laughed and walked over to a large table trimmed with shells and other little knick knacks."You get to sit at the Skippers table mates." He waited for them to sit down before he sat down.

Henrak sat down near the otter and looked around to see what company he was keeping, and what there was to eat.

All sorts of beasts went up and got their fill, and there was plenty. Hotroot soups, hotroot shrimp, hotroot pretty everything. But there were salads, fish, berry pies, fresh salads, and a large variety of fruit. There were many kegs out with many a different drink, for the hartier beasts there was ale and grog, for others berry cordials and wines. For the youngens there was a milk and honey mixture and fruit drinks. The desserts were aplenty with jellos, scones, cakes, and candied fruits and chestnuts.
"Since yer sittin with me, we get to go right after the elders." He watched as the last elder got their fill,"Alright mates, lets get some food."

Henrak nodded and stood up, walking towards the food. He took a plate and took some salad, but not much. He wasn't used to large quantities of food. He also took some ale, and went back to take his seat, eating slowly, and savouring the good food.

Henrak chuckled. " I don't eat much." He replied, after swallowing his mouthful. He then continued to eat, thoroughly enjoying each mouthful.
