It seemed like a hundred season since his escape. Even though it was only one. Every minute Tibbarius spent away from Sevanthia was torture. He was a free beast. No longer a slave but he could not enjoy it. Knowing that his kin were still locked away in the fortress that had been built over the small village of Sevanthia. He could remember the many restless nights. Where he & all the slaves would sit down. Listening to the elders stories. Of when Sevanthia was a wonderful place. With good food & even better friends. Born into slavery Tiberius never knew of the prosperous times. All he had was the memories of the elders to hang off of.
He had admitted it a long time ago. He was lost. He hadn’t had anything decent to eat for some time now. All he had to keep him going was the promise he had made to his parents. He would return to Sevanthia one say. He would free his parents & all the others who were most likely still being punished for helping Tibby (As most called him) escape. His paws were sore & tired from walking aimlessly all day. He couldn’t even get a proper baring. He stopped for a moment. Knowing that if he kept going at the pace he was going at. He would drop dead before making it to the great Abbey.
Tibbarius sat down leaning his back against a tree. He brought his nose in the air & took in a deep breather. His ears began to twitch almost instantly. He recognized the sound which was not far off. He brought down his dark red hood. Now he knew it for sure. It was running water. In an instant he shot up. His cloak flowing behind him as he ran through the woods. He stopped at a river bed. He ran to the waters edge & kneeled down. He cupped his paw & scoop up a paw full of water. He took a sip of the river water. He continued to drink greedily. Wetting his parched throat. This was the best water he had drank & he was feeling one hundred percent better already. Just then Tibbarius heard the snapping of twigs not far behind him. He put his hood up & stood completely still. He sniffed the air. He could smell a scent that he recognized easily. The foul scent of rats. He curled his lip in contempt. However he did not move as four rats crept quietly toward the Tibbarius.

(This RP takes place after the events happening in "Enter the Crocodile", to avoid any confusion.)
Mudeye licked his lips in anticipation, as he examined the mouse at the river's edge. Mudeye, along with his companions, kept themselves hidden in the cover of the bushes, examining the mouse and waiting for Mudeye's command. The rat glanced at his companions, a wicked smile on his face, and nodded. It didn't matter who the mouse was. As far as they were concerned, he was just easy prey. And so, the rats started to crep closer to the mouse, carefully avoiding any sound and moving to surround the mouse. He wouldn't stand a chance against them, of that Mudeye was sure.
Unaware to Mudeye or his companions however, the would be predators were watched from a predator of a different kind.
The crocodile mage named Katarn-Revor watched the rats from the cover of several thick bushes. The green scales covering his body, along with a very fine crafted green poncho aided him in his concealment along with a chameleon spell, making him nearly invisible from afar.
The crocodile didn't know much about the band of rats. Only that they were a bunch of bandits and shady drug dealers, each highly skilled in the use of a crossbow. A bunch of troublemakers which had angered the wrong beasts one time to much. The captain of the Lagos town guard had not been very specific about them. The vixen only wanted them off the streets. Bring them back dead or alive she had said. You'll get the reward either way.
From what Katarn-Revor could tell however, the lot of them didn't seem to be much of a threat to him, not that there are many things which could possess a threat to him anyway, and he doubted it to be difficult to take them out. Simple earned gold. He thought to himself, as he followed them from the distance. He would wait long enough for a good opportunity, then make his move. The rats wouldn't stand a chance against him.

Tibbarius was alert now. He knew what was stalking him. They seemed to be getting closer. His ears perked up listening for any sound. Without looking he could tell he was outnumbered. As much as he wanted to just spin around & attack with everything he had. He would only get himself killed. He was no good to his family dead. He let out a fake sigh of relief. Knowing if he stood stiff as a board they would know he was prepared to fight. Which meant, or at least he thought it meant they would just attack. Timing at this moment was everything. If he acted even a second too late, or too soon he would be finished before he could draw his sword.
Tibby kneeled down beside the waters edge. He noticed a small stone. It was flat & smooth. He held it in his paw & flipped it up in the air catching it expertly. He followed through by tossing the stone out into the water. He watched as the stone skipped. “One...” He began to count as the stone skipped once. “Two…” The stone took a big leap. One eye was on the rock. The other was watching the reflection in the water. He could not only see his spitting image shining in the clear water. He could also see the rat which was now only an inch away. A small smile crept on his lips. One which the rat could have seen easily in the reflection. The stone skipped off the water one more time.
“THREE!” He shouted as loud as he could in an attempt to catch his predator’s off guard. Like a flash he had spun around unsheathing the sword which he carried on his back. He grabbed the closest rat. Turning the rat around Tibbarius used it as a shield. Any beast that wanted to kill Tibbarius would have to go through the rat who’s throat Tibby’s sword was pressed against. Knowing vermin like he did. The mouse figured they would have no problem in cutting down one of their own. However these rats were sneaky. He barely found them out in time. Maybe they would realize the value of one of their allies. “No one move or I will run him through.”

Katarn-Revor watched the scenery and almost cursed. That mouse had been faster than him. Then again, the mouse also brought itself into a rather bad situation. He might be holding one of the bandits hostage, but he was still alone and surrounded. Well, maybe not alone. Katarn-Revor thought, and inched closer to the scenery.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mudeye examined the situation, gritted his teeth and spit down on the ground. The mouse thought he could mess with him? Well, maybe the mouse should reconsider to do so. He raised his crossbow and aimed at the mouse's head.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Examining the situation in front of him once again, it was not quite clear to Katarn-Revor who the leader of the small band of bandits was and he poundered his options. If he would allow the rat to shoot the mouse, he would have to deal with all of them alone. If he would take him out, he would have the mouse for his aid, making things easier though he would have to share the reward in the end.
Katarn-Revor shrugged it off eventually. The reward was high enough, besides he could always take on another job to earn some gold. With the mouse for his aid, things would simply become much, much easier.
He lifted his taloned claw, aimed it carefully towards the leader and released a powerful streak of lightning. The lightning pierced through the worn leather armour like a blade and the lifeless body fell to the floor. Mudeye was dead before he even realised what happened.
"It is over." Katarn-Revor called out, loud enough for all to hear, yet trying to hide his exact location. "You are surrounded. Drop your weapons and surrender, then we'll spare your lives."

Tibbarius knew it was most likely the end. As much as he hated to admit it he was in quite the spot. He was surrounded there was no doubting that. If that wasn’t bad enough they all seemed like they were skilled killers. He had one plan left if decided to attack. He had no other choice but throw himself into the water. If he could go with the current he might just have a chance. However his next plan depended on the rats who had him backed into a corner.
Tibby looked ahead. The leader of the rats was holding a crossbow pointing it at the mouse’s head. Tibby quickly moved his head to that it was blocked by the rat in front of him. He could still see the leader but the rat could not get a good shot at him. He was ready for plan B. Just as he was about to push the rat forward & jump into the water. He saw the rat with the crossbow drop dead.
Only a second later he heard a voice. Warning the rats that they were surrounded. They were told to drop their weapons. It was a command for surrender. The mouse didn’t know who, or what was out there. Concealed in the woods but he owed the creature his life. Tibbarius tightened his grip on the rat that he still had held. He pressed the blade of his sword against the rats neck a little more. Making a small cut. Not enough to kill the rat. But enough to make sure the others knew he meant business. He had no pity for vermin of any kind. If killing this unarmed rat was what he had to do then he would with no hesitation. Although he was feeling a little easier he dared not speak. Not until hen was sure he was in the clear.

Katarn-Revor watched the remaining rats reluctantly dropping their weapons, holding their arms out in surrender. "Very good. Maybe you're not as dumb as you look. Now take ten steps back and sit down, back to back and keep your paws so we can see them."
Once again, the rats reluctantly obeyed his orders and did as they were told. They sat down, back to back, holding their paws high into the air and scanning their surroundings fearfully.
It was then that Katarn-Revor decided to make his appearance. The chameleon spell was about to fade off anyway. He left the cover of the bushes, keeping a secure grip on his staff. He presented himself in all his glory, striking quite a pose, and giving the pair of rats enough time to realise, that he had fooled them.
Seeing no visible weapons on him, they were about to get up and make a run for their weapons. However, they froze the very moment Katarn-Revor scorched the floor in front of them with a fire spell. "Going somewhere?" He asked coldly, a fist sized fireball hovering above his opened claw. The rats swallowed, and slowly returned towards their former positions.
"Wise choice." The crocodile remarked coldly. "Just because you're more in numbers doesn't give you an advantage."
He lifted his gaze and looked at the mouse, who still held the blade to the rat's throat. "I think you can release him now. I don't think he'll try anything funny." He said and fixed his gaze on the pair of rats again. "I'll keep an eye on them while you tie them up, okay?"

The rats had dropped their weapons. They obeyed the orders of the mysterious voice. The mouse still held the rat captive as he didn’t know what was coming up next. Tibbarius saw a strange creature appear, almost out of thin air. The rats were ready to go for their weapons but the strange creature used some kid of fire spell. He had not seen magic like that before. He stared in wonder as the rats backed off.
A second later he was brought back to reality by the creature telling him to tie the others up. He backed a up few steps. Pointing the tip of the sword at the back of the rats neck. “Get moving.” Tibbarius said as he walked the rat forward. “Now join your friends.” The rat did as it was told. Tibby spent no time in tying them up. He made sure he had the ropes nice & tight. In his eyes these rats were getting off easily.
He made sure the rope was tied firmly so that there was no chance of any of the scoundrels escaping. He then looked over to the creature who had helped him. “I owe you my life. If it weren’t for you I would have been killed. There is no escaping it.” The mouse said honestly. He sheathed his sword just as one of the captured rats whispered something to the another. Tibbarius cuffed him in the head with his foot paw. He turned his attention back to the creature who had aided him. “The names Tibbarius Rythe.” The mouse figure a proper introduction was the least he could give. Well it was pretty much all he had to give.

"I am Katarn-Revor, freelance mage for hire. Pleased to meet you." The crocodile replied, bowing his head slightly. "Though I have to admit that I have to be thankful as well." He added.
"The capture of these bandits could have been a whole lot more difficult and troublesome, if it wouldn't have been for you. So, thank you for aiding me in my little quest." He added in all honesty and nodded his head in aknowledgement.
"It would be only fair for you to get half of the reward." The crocodile began, gesturing towards the slain rat. "Just take his head as proof and let's go on our way. We can talk during the trek, besides, it isn't far. Maybe a couple of hours before we reach the city."

"Pleased to meet you. Katarn-Revor, however I do not seek any reward. " He didn't need any reward. Nor did he want anything. Valuables were of no concern to him. All he wanted was to free his family. "As much as I apreciate the offer." He continued with a smile. "I am only in these wood for one reason. I heard of a Abbey named Redwall. I am hoping in that place I can find some warriors." The mouse looked at the rats for a moment. Just pondering for a moment. "You wouldn't happen to know of the place would you?"

Katarn-Revor blinked a couple of times. "Ah, no, not really." He shook his head. "Sorry, but I am a stranger to these parts as well." He shrugged, as he thought about several options. "Why don't you come along then?" He asked Tibbarius finally. "It's just a couple of hours to the city, and I'm sure the captain of the city watch or someone else there might be able to help you."

Tibbarius stopped for a moment. Pondering the strangers request. His mind was set on one place when he started his escape. Yet he did not know of any others that would have been able to help him back then. This was a possibility. Captains usually had creatures following them. Maybe... just maybe he could find someone to come along with him to fight. He had heard that this Redwall was a peaceful place. It would be a shame to drag them into a matter that did not concern them. He wasn’t completely sure it would be the right path. “I will come along with you.” He accepted the big lizard’s offer. He just hoped that he would find the aid he was seeking. “Lead the way.” He said as he waited for Katarn-Revor to start moving toward their destination.

The crocodile nodded. "Right, but don't forget the rat's head so we can get our reward." He said, pointing towards the carcass.
A couple of moments later, the strange pair was on its way, carrying the rats weapons along with the severed head in a bag while dragging the captured rats along.
"So," Katarn-Revor started to make some conversation. "From where do you hail?"

The mouse did not enjoy the fact that he had chopped another beasts head off. However if that is what was needed to get on his way then that is what he had to do. Moments later he was walking with his new ally. “I am from a small village called Sevanthia. It was a peaceful place…. From what I have heard. Until a cougar & his pack of vermin took control. This was long before I was even born. When my parents were just little. They were forced to build a castle for this cat. Under control of slavers. When the castle was built all the beasts were made to build a wall to surround it.” He stopped for a second as he thought about his home. “We were making our own prison. Then one season ago. Although it seems like a much longer time. I saw a chance to escape. So I left stealing a sword from a guard & fighting my way to one of their boats. As I left I vowed I would return to save my fellow slaves.” He stretched out. Tibbarius felt more at ease now that he had a traveling companion. He let out a yawn before continuing the story. “That is how I ended up here. I had been lost for almost a year now. So my friend. Where pray tell are you from.”

The crocodile listened patiently to the mouse's words, feeling slightly sorry for him. In a way it was ironic. A couple of months ago, he wouldn't really cared about it. But now... The recent events of the past had changed him slightly. Maybe even for the better.
"Hm?" He replied, nearly overhearing the mouses question. "Oh, well, I... uh..." He sighed heavily, as he tried to form the correct answers in his mind. "I was born as a prince to the Kingdom of Nilren Marsh, a swampy land on another continent with the most beautiful marshes you've ever laid eyes upon."
He sighed heavily. "Life was good, back then. All I did all day was either studying magic or having fun with my personal harem of selected males and females." He smiled at the memories. "Celebrated some wild partys back then, I can assure you."
His face suddenly became serious again, as the unpleasant memories returned to him. "Then one day, a powerful and brutal rebellion started, spreading all across the kingdom. The royal family soon fell beneath the blades of the rebels, and I was forced to flee from my home and life in order to survive." He shrugged. "I've been wandering the world ever since."

(Sorry for not replying sooner. Busy weekend. )
Tibbarius didn't know what to think of the story. He felt sorry for the creature. For Katarn-Revor, however he had everything. A home, freedomn & most likely slaves. He would have been engry about this. However Katarn-Revor had it all taken away. He was an outcast from his home. Leaving because it was no longer the home he could be safe in. Tibb didn't know what that was like. He never had a home. He had a prison from birth. He walked in silence as he pondered the situation.
