"Most impressive." Katarn-Revor noted, as he watched the badger's performance. "There are not many warriors in these parts who could take on a Daedroth." A smug grin appeared on the crocodiles features.
"However, it will take more than that to defeat it." He added. And while you're busy fighting it, I get the time I need to regenerate my mana. He thought.

"You...you...slimy...lizard..." A familiar voice sounded behind Katarn. Grisk was kneeling on his knee, blood streaming from his chest in almost torrents. His eyes had no pupils, only by shere will was he even able to kneel there. He had a rapier in his right hand, his left hand covering the gaping hole in his chest."I...i...i...i...I...will...not...give...in." He stood up and half stumbled half walked toward Katarn,"You...will...leave...this...day...with...me...to...the...gates...of...the...dark...forest." Each word he said sent pain shooting through his body.(To spice it up a bit, he will die, but just a quick little battle again.)
Redstripe parried a blow from a massive claw, almost losing grip on his axe. He lunged foreward and slashed at the creature causing another tear on its body, this one going down. The creature still stood which amazed Redstripe, but he remembered when he was pulled into the abys long ago, and the pain he felt in his shoulder, or even the pain that creature there is feeling would never amount to that pain.

"Huh?" Katarn-Revor spun around, staring at Grisk with disbeliev. "...Amazing..." He muttered under his breath, then snorted and looked grim again. "I don't know what this dark forest is, but I am afraid I can't come along." He smirked. "I intend to continue living for quite some time, before I take my rateful place at Sobek's side." He added quickly.
Examining the mortally wounded and dieing hare in front of him, his eyes turned to sliths and became devoid of any emotion. "Why don't you just end the pain and simply die? It's easy." He said, summoned another fireball above his claw and hurled it at the mortally wounded Grisk.

Grisk sidestepped surprisingly fast and ran foreword, the last rush of adrenaline giving him renewed strength."Die!!!" His rapier flashed heading straight at Katarn.

(Are you still in the game, Stripetail?)
Grunting in surprise, Katarn-Revor tried to sidestep the incoming attack but only partly succeeded. The blade nicked his right arm, piercing his skin and drawing blood. Hissing out in pain, the crocodile took a couple of steps back to bring some distance between him and the maddened hare, only to hurl another fireball at his opponent.

(Yes i am, I've just been busy") Rosepaw Moved from her position, keeping low to the ground. The sky erupted with light as lightning bolts ubfurled in the sky. the rain was coming down hard... and It became difficult to fire arrow, due to the rain. "Cover me" She said to a nearby hare..

"Aye." The hare beside her replied and continued to pelt the vermin horde with arrows.

Grisk dropped down, blood falling from his body more and more. His fur was singed as the fireball went overtop of him. He hopped up and pulled out the second rapier, weilding one in each hand he rushed Katarn with anger that brought him to insanity. He didn't speak, blood was comming out of his mouth and he spat out his tounge in mid-run. The blades flashed in an X slash towards Katarn.

Katarn-Revor's eyes went wide as he watched the hare spitting out his own tongue, and he fought desparately to keep the contents of his stomach in.
It was then that he knew he had to end this. It was time for him to destroy the thing the hare has become and give his soul peace. So he summoned a fairly large amount of mana into a single spell.
A small, bluish cloud of fog shot from the tips of his claws straight towards the hare and grew in size rapidly. When at last the frost ball made contact with the hare, it was already large enough to make any attempt in doging it futile. The frost ball impacted into the hare, surrounded him and unleashed its deadly effect on the remains of the hare.
The cloud vanished almost instantly, and Katarn-Revor breathed out in relief as the frozen body of the hare finally hit the ground.

The ice cracked slightly as Grisk made one more attempt to reach Katarn, but the crack was all that was acheived. The last of his blood left his body and he passed on, the last thing he saw was the gates of the Dark Forest...
Redstripe fell back under another horrendous blow, his muscles were all but ready to give away. He waited for the right moment, the creature stepped foreward, but without one of its legs it fell. Its neck hit the blade of the Axe severing the head and covering Redstripe under the massive carcass.

As the night waned. Scarback called back his horde, they had failed in thier objective. The ground was covered with the blod and bodies of vermin and hares, and the stench was overwhelming. "Gather the wounded and send them back to the camp" He ordered.

Redstripe crawled out from under the carcass of the beast he killed,"Where did he go?" He looked around, the darkness obscuring his vision. The bloodwrath left him and he stood up."Grisk?" He saw the chuck of ice, slightly melted, with Grisk frozen inside."Oh, Grisk, he got you did me mate?" He took his axe and smashed the ice. Grisk's body hit the ground and Redstripe sheathed his axe on his back. He looked around and found the axe lord Strongstripe had made and sheathed it on his back. He picked up Grisk's body and walked back to Salamandstron.

The battle had been long and exhausting for Katarn-Revor. After he defeated the hare and the carcass of the summoned daedroth had burried the badger beneath, he had continued to fire area effect spells at the archers on top of the walls.
He managed to unleash only two more blasts though, before he was rather forced into direct combat in the centre of the battle and he was forced to fight for mere survival. In the end, Katarn-Revor managed to defeat a couple of hares, either slaying them or wounding them enough to leave them unable for further fighting.
A couple of new wounds decorated his body in return in a sick way, pulsing and burning with pain though they wouldn't be much of a problem once he had restored enough mana to cast a couple of powerful healing spells on him. He had used up quite a lot of his mana during the battle.
Now, he sat on top of tree stump, looking at the fortress and wondering whether or not, Scarback was able to catch a glimpse of his abilities as a mage. He sighed and turned his gaze towards the camp. He would find out soon enough. For the moment however, he asked himself where Slavert was. If he was alright.
Katarn-Revor wouldn't have admitted in the past, but after a couple of near death situations during the battle, he now realised that the small fox was actually the only beast in this horde he could somewhat call a friend.

"Wounded are we?" Shoum's voice sounded cynical and teasing,"Ah, but see, thats the problem with frontline combat, no place for mages...Sorry, let me rephrase that, powerful mages. It was the perfect place for you." She stood behind Katarn, his eye-less face staring at him,"Oh, and don't expect much rest. The one called Redstripe craves your blood. Trust me, if he is anything like his father, there will be a counterattack early in the morning." She turned and stopped,"So, rest up while you can...and don't tell Scarback, I find it amusing that he should learn all this on his own, for laughs." She let out a dry sounding cackle and took a few steps away but stopped,"Before I leave, tell me, did what I say anger you?" She turned to face him once more, a strange glow in her empty eye sockets."Oh, a hint of advise, don't use your magic like that again, conserve, not all foes need to fall to magic."

Katarn-Revor aknowledged her presence and listened to her words. She was a powerful mage, more powerful than he was as much as he hate to admit it, but there was something else too. Something was not right about her. Her aura had something... slightly dark and twisted. Once he realised what it was, he fought back a growl. "Get lost, vampire-scum." He replied, quite hostile.
