Slavert climbed out of Katarn embrace as the flaming tent began to collaspse . the heat of the burning tent was rising and the smoke from the flames made it difficult to see. Slavert fell to the ground on his knees and tried to stay low to the ground. (is that better?) - "You are truly evil! Where am I going to treat the wounded now?"Bastomus barked. "The patients I treat will be at the mercy of the elements! Why did you do that? Have you no conscience?' this was a rhetorical question, the look in her eyesockets had revealed everything..

(Uh, Stripetail? Could we make the burning-tent-scene a little bit more... dramatic?)

(Yeah, though I expected Slavert to be to weak to move much. A misunderstanding on my part, simply ignore it.)
The crocodile cursed, coughed violently and tried to shield his nostrils from the smoke. True, he could use his magic to shield himself somewhat from the heat and fire, but that wouldn't help him against the smoke. Neither would it help Slavert.
Katarn-Revor slumbed to his knees, pulled his arm around the smaller fox and tried to hurry to somekind of exit. It didn't look good though. The whole tent was on fire and there was no way they could get out now. Except going straight through the flames.
The crocodile made a short, mental prayer, then made his decision. Quickly, he cast a spell of fire shield on himself and hurried as fast as he could towards the nearest wall of fire. The spell would shield him somewhat from the fire and heat, hopefully enough to keep him conscious to guide the two of them through the burning nightmare.
He had no idea what the fire and flames might do with Slavert, though he couldn't care at the moment. If they would stay in here much longer, they would be dead anyway. "I'm sorry, Slavert." The crocodile whispered into the foxes ear, then pulled him violantly through the cascade of flames.
The flames flicked across his body, scorching his skin, while the heat boiled his very blood. Katarn-Revor screamed in agony, as he forced himself forward. If he would stay down now, both he and Slavert would be dead. It seemed to take an eternity of pain and suffering for them to finally break through the burning fire and reach the clear night air.
The crocodile breathed a sigh of relief, dragged himself and Slavert a couple of steps more forward, then collapsed from exhaustion.
(Is that okay?)

(Very good) Slavert rolled away from Katarn his fur smouldering. he rolled on the ground in pain , trying to snuff the flames out. A crowd of vermin came up the site of fire holding wounded vermin from the battle. "quickly! Put them on stretchers!" Bastomus ordered. _ Slavert looked up and saw a number of stoats drag him to his feet and lay him on a stretcher. _ 'Go tell His Lordship that Shoum has destroyed the medicinal tent" Bastomus said angrily to a nearby fox.

The fox nodded and darted off towards the warlord's tent. He run as fast as his legs allowed him though. The vulpine may just be a low ranking soldier, but he knew fairly well that without the healer's tent, the situation looked dire.
He stopped in front of the Scarback's tent, swallowed nervously and straightened his armour. He then put up a stern face and entered the tent. "Lord Scarback?" Spotting the warlord at the other end of the tent, the foxes gaze immediately went to the floor and he kneeled down. "Forgive me, sire, but I bring you a message from our healer. The seer Shoum burned the healer's tent down, sire."

"That cursed CENSORED! I'll make her pay for this!" Katarn-Revor shouted from between coughs.

She did what?' Scarback looked at him ' bring her to me... I need those soldiers to take the fortess. If they die my army loses nearly a quarter of its size, and I can't tolerate that."

The fox nodded and hurried off.

Katarn-Revor groaned from the pain. The healing spell did its work and some of the minor wounds had already healed, though he hadn't enough mana left to cast a spell powerful enough for his more severe wounds. He would have to wait a while longer.
He turned his head to look at Slavert, ignoring the pain the movement caused him. "Are you alright?" The crocodile knew how silly this question sounded, though he didn't know what else to say.

"Please keep from Talking, the both of you" Bastomus replied "Both of you are badly injured" Katarn and Slavert were lying on stretches on a flat area. Katarn was several feel away from Slavert, who was being tended to by helpers..

Shoum cackled gleefully at Katarn's pain,"Remembered lizard, I can hear better then most so be carefull what you say about me." She laughed and turned and started talking to herself,"I know lord Kruga it was wonderful. I knew that ye spoke true at it all." She laughed and started to walk away.

"I'll get you for this." The crocodile hissed through clenched teeth. "For hurting me and Slavert, I'll get you back. Mark my words."

Don't be foolish" Bastomus replied. "she is stronger than you, and she feeds on anger and hate. You cannot defeat her with evil, you can only defeat her if you do good. sounds contradictory coming from a vermin, but that is the truth."

The crocodile fought to bite back a growl. The stoat was right, even though he hated to admit it. He turned to look at Slavert, concern in his eyes.

"He will be out for awhile" Bastomus said,'But his life is not in danger, so you can rest easy on that. I imagine that Scarback is going to reem her out for this." _ Scarback scowled as his attendant lead Shoum in.

"Yes o mighty Scarback?" There was a hint of sarcasm in her voice,"Do you need me to whip up a little magic for your pathetic little army of cowerds and weaklings?" She laughed and shoved the attendent aside as she stormed foreward,"Or is it that you do not like the actions I took against Katarn? If you wish to whip me or punish me, know that you would be dead before hand. What you failed to realise is that I have an acomplice."
A much older krolm waited in the surrounding foilage with about two-score of what was left of Kruga's horde, more then half were new soldiers."So boys are ye reada ta take this ere group of Scarbacks? I mean ifin ya can't then I can kill e now ta save em da trouble."
