Rinn Fian Sariel soon returned with what Fiona needed along with few other things that might be useful in treating Rinn's injury. Rinn faught hard to cling to conciousness, she could feel the familiar cold of impending death. She had faught death before and won but she had cheated it more than her fair share of times as well. Her greatest fear now was that it had come to collect its due....

Fiona gasped as Rinn slowly began to close her eyes. "Gimme that bottle!" she snapped at Sariel, "The bandages too!" With first aid supplies finally in hand, she began to bandage Rinn's wounds, murmuring "Stay awake, Rinn." "It'll be all healed up soon." "This may sting a little." as she worked, not noticing that Rinn was now unconcious.

Vengence managed a crooked hoarse scream as the huge ship loomed closer she was going to be smashed against it on this little raft!

Rinn Fian Though Rinn had lost her fight to remain concious, she was not through yet. She stood stead fast before the gates of dark forest, not willing to budge. Rinn had all intentions of cheating death again by coming close to surindering to it but not submiting. She was fighting their pull so greatly that even through she was unconcious she tried to grip the deck underneather to keep from moving, her claws diging into the damp wood. "Come home Rinn, come home to your family." a voice echoed in her mind, urging her to give in. I won't, it's not my time. I'm not going to die here, not now not ever.,Rinn thought trying to fend off the intruder in her mind....

Fiona looked worried as Rinn's claws dug into the deck. She grabbed Rinn's arm, holding it tight as the ship shook from another blast. Then she remembered what her shipmate had requested. "Retreat!" she yelled, "Let's go! Hurry!"

Rinn Fian Even in her unconcious state, Rinn could still feel Fiona grabbing her arm but in the state that she was in it felt as though the spirits of her family were trying to pull her towards the gates.
Sariel glanced from the incroaching corsair ships to Fiona. "Good call, miss. I'd say it'd be a good idea ta get poor Rinn off the open deck too."

Fiona nodded, then yelled "Get us a stretcher! Now, or you'll be mincemeat!" to a passing mouse, who ran off instantly to obey. Fiona turned back to Rinn, who was still unconcious. "Hold on, Rinn." she murmured.

With the help of another sailor, Fiona loaded her friend onto the stretcher. "All we can do now is hope." she whispered as Rinn was carried off. [glow=red,2,300]CP[/glow]

Fiona made sure her friend was carried into a warm cabin, then set out to inspect the damage. The starbord side of the prow had been smashed, and same with a chunk of the bow. Fiona frowned as she examined the mast. No damage had been done there, but there was a hole in the high sail. She turned to Sariel. "We'll have to find an island. We need to do a lot of repairing."

Rinn Fian Sariel nodded in agreement before hurrying off to Rinn's cabin, all the charts and such were kept there. The squirrel quietly moved past the still form of Rinn, retrieved the chart that showed the outlying islands then went back to where Fiona was waiting. Rinn was still in peril because of her wound but she no longer stood at dark forest's gates but had fallen into a deep and dreamless sleep. She had won out on death once more but the strain of it had caused some perminant effects. Her dark fur had begun to pale to a ghostly silver grey, making her appear tens of seasons older than what she actually was....

Fiona took the small chart from Sariel and examined it for a moment. "Head south-east." was all she said before walking back to Rinn's cabin. Fiona slowly shut the cabin door behind her before rushing over to Rinn, not noticing the change in her fur color. "Hello Rinn. It's me, Fiona, your friend. Are you okay?"

Rinn Fian Slowly Fiona's voice seeped through the inky blackness that filled Rinn's mind, gradually ushering her into wakefullness. As she awoke she became aware of the fact that her limbs felt leaden and that she felt very sluggish as through she were moving through thick mud. Gradually she opened her eyse and looke up at Fiona, the movement was very slow and appeared to take all of her energy. "Fiona...." Rinn said in a raspy voice, "How...did we fair?"

Fiona let out a slow sigh of relief before speaking. "We took enough damage that I thought we should head to the closest island, which is actually only about a half-day's sail from here."

Rinn Fian Rinn slowly nodded as she closed her eyes, she still felt incredibly tired. "I....knew you would....know what....would need to.....be done." breathed Rinn as she drifted back into the dreamless sleep Fiona had awakened her from. As she drifted off, her weather worn paw weakly grasped Fiona's and gave it a faint squeeze of encouragement.....
