Kael had set sail from one the distant isles with only himself and his boat. He now had one traveling compainion. The coward and traitor, Deren. Kael wanted to travel to somewhere where the trees were green all year round. He had heard tales of this place but had never actually been there. He had never been anywhere but the island from where he had been born.

deren had recently been rescued form a storm, and was still dead afraid of kael and treated kael asif he was a slave and kael was the master

Kael checked the yard lines. They were secure. He then went below deck and looked at some maps.

deren followed after her, checking the walls of the deck and making sure they were firm.

Kael looked up as he heard footsteps. He saw Deren making sure the walls were tight.
"what are you doing."

"no, i am mearly hinting that these walls might spring a leak," deren prodded a particuarly thin bit in the wall, and patched it up with a rag of cloak.

deren thingyed his ears forward, "wh'what was that..." he listened even more carefully, THUMP!!! the boat rocked and swayed under impact
