More squirrel soldiers came in a wave, chattering and shouting. Villagers were starting to see that the gate had been breached. In a panic, a families left their home, sprinting for the woods on the other side of the village, and inland. The squirrel pups were screaming and crying, being carried hastily or even dragged. The civilians started to run in different direction, but all heading for one place: the west gate. It opened up to the edge of teh woods, and being squirrels they would vanish into the trees once they made it that far. and still the fight raged on. The squirrels fought wildly against the pirates.

(I'm sure this thread is long past it's revival date but here goes.)
For the sixth time, and possibly her last, Rinn Fian denied death its prize. With strength borne of some otherworldly force she got to her feet and strode into her ramshackle dwelling. From their hidden resting places in the rafters of her hovel she pulled a large boarding axe and her faithful sword. Like a creature in a trance she prepared herself to go against the entire pirate fleet. Deep in her heart Rinn Fian knew that it was Sariel who had brought her back this final time and she knew that she would not see the rising of another sun.
For once she ignored the ships that were moored along the shore, Rinn knew where she needed to go. She needed to find the squirrel village as fast as possible. With strength and vigor renewed by some otherworldly source she took off at a run across the sands for the tree line. Rinn Fian's appearance would have frightened any civil beast. Pale as a wrathe, her silver fur and tattered captain's uniform were streaked with crimson blood from her shoulder wound which was bound in crimson tindged sail cloth, armed with sword and axe. Despite this she ran like a beast possesed as she dodged cannon ball explosions...
