The old squirrel smiled. Yes the youth had got first go. only he hadn´t belived them when he was told them. He himself had heared of that abbey, a place of magic creatures. It came to suprise that the young squirrel had not belived about the samurai. They had passed into legend, to find one, was an experiance of a livetime. To learn from then was an experiance they would never forget. This one here would be taught. He would be taken to the palce were samurai lived, war, poverty, dishonour and honour all founded into one. Maybe this was the one that would save those lands.
" Good, you know. Now you have tro learn, your going to be a samurai, like or not. Now go outside and take this." he tosed him another katana, this one was made out of wood." Defend yourself"
The old squirrel drew another wooden katana and swung it at his opponents waist with speed unatural to soemone with such age. The Redwallers in the grounds looked at this with amazement. An old squirrel was actualy trying to fight Stripetail, a magician and Stripetail was know for being a good swordfighter. The dibbuns formed a circle around them and watched with awe. The lders joined to, they were amazed to see the old squirrel move with such speed but still thought he was no match fro Stripetail.

Stripetail blocked the thrust , but only just in time. This old one was obviously very skilled in swordsplay, judging by the speed of his moves. But he himself was no slouch in swordsplay either. Stripetail did an elaborate move, first moving one side then the other. He was greatly suprised to see that his quick moves did not fool the old squirrell. "He's probably seen that move sevceral times before. Stripetail closed his eyes and swung upward, his wooden sword glowing with light. There was a resounding crack as the two swords met. The old one had blocked his thrust again. Stripetail nodded to him. "You are very skilled old one." Lord Stripetail

OOC: Ok, that was donright autos, Ill let pass this time but nobody realy likes being autoed. So Im going to take my revenge by autoing you. And maybe this would work better if we planned these battles by pm.
BIC: The old squirrel smiled, the Redwallers gasped. His sword was an inch away from stripetails neck. As soon as the thrust had been blocked the old squirrel had moved sideways and swung the wodden katana so fast that it was almost impossible to see it moving and stopped it just before it reached his neck.
" I win, in katana practise you very rarely actualy hit the adversary, yoyh stop the sword an inch from him. Your good, but you are using the wrong tipe of swordplay fro a katana. With a katana you cut mostly, the best cutting weapons there are on earth katanas. They can cleave an adversery into to two."
He was alredy moving towards the orchard where he intended to have a rest and maybe teach Stripetail something about the samurai, or bushido.
" Also you have to many mind."
He sat down and satted to look at the trees around him. The Redwallers to whom he seemed oblivious to were trying to hold back the dibbuns how whated to hear what he was saying. They finaly managed to escape and crowd round the old squirrel.

(oOc: What do you mean by Auto Sanak?) BIc: Stripetail looked down at the katana"Clearly I Still have a lot to learn about samarai. " As he talked to himself, he saw the old squirrell walk away towards the orchard, followed by a roving band of curious Dibbuns. They followed him to a large tree and sat down around him. "I might as well join the throng" he thought as he walked towards the orchard. Lord stripetail

The old squirrel watched as the dibbuns settled down. They would probably leave as soon as he started to talk about the history of the samurai.
" Thousands of years ago the samurai were founded, warriors of the upper class, sworn loyalty to their lords and obeyed a strict code of honour. One the reasons I bacame a ronin was because I did not belive in the code. One part was hara kiri. Belly cut. A samurai could not stand the shqame of defeat so they killed themselfs when they lost. In my eyes it was cowardise, it was runing away from what the enemy could do to you when you were captured."
Here he le tout a long sigh. The dibbuns around him gazed at him awestruct. One them piped up.
" Wa hapined if thi won."
The squirrel looked at the dibbun with sad eyes. One of the adults was about to tell off the dibbun when He answered.
" Then the losers killed themselfs, if they weren't already dead. The records of the abbey contain many manuscrits with records of battles and daily live. All hidden of course, found them accsident, but they are all written in samurai language. Perhaps one of you could elightened me."
The silence that followed that statetement could have frosen a running river in midsummer.

StRipetail finally broke the silence "were any of thier lords samarai as well? I am a lord myself, that is why I am asking. Were there any other parts of the code besides hari kari you disagreed with?"

The black squirrel sat there for a long time, for that time, no one spoke or moved. Finaly he opened his mouth for the answer.
" Yes there are samurai lords, stupid idiots who do nothing but fight against each other."
He paused again. Consedering the question about the code with evident thoughtfulness. There was complete and utter silence. Not a single blade of grass moved. No birds were heared in the still air. Finaly his lips moved slowly ands deliberatly.
" Much more, some of it worthless junk, while some of it could rival Martin the Warrior's code of honour. Protect your friends, relatives and all those weaker than you. Respect for others and so much more."
He sighed, it was obvious that ancient memories were being awakened. Painfull memories. Like before, there was utter stilness. His words were no more than a whisper but it cut the silence like a knive through straw.
" Its a pity that almowt none of them followed it."

" STripetail's eyes flew open wide. ' i'm not surprised.' He said. "THere would probably be more Samarai today if they followed the code. ARe you the last samarai sir?" He asked

The old squirrel shook his head aand smiled. He stood up a beckoned Stripetail to follow him.
" There are many more, wandering through the world. Well, not samurais per se. Ronins, warriors without masters. Pack your bags, we leave in an hour."
With that he walked towards the gatehouse. There were many scrolls he had to pack before leaving.
