Back in Redwall Stripetail was lying down when he suddenly stood up. "she's here in the forest.' he said, startling the others I'll be right back" His innate senses scanned the forest, hearing the screams of woodlanders as Rhita's horde did thier 'recruiting' he also sensed a tiny cry from the abandoned babe. Teleportius' He said and he vanished. He reappeared in the doorway of the hut. The bloodsoaked ground testified that the horde had already been here. He noticed the still body of the vixen and the foxbabe crying pitifully on the floor. he came over and picked him up, he could tell from the touch the skin that the babe was sick. "Well young one there's nothing I can do for your mother, I'm sorry to say. Raising the dead is a life-task and it takes a lot of time and energy. I would do it, but time is a luxury we don;t have. I think I should take you back to Redwall and care for you there. " He Stroked the babe's head as he pulled out the sword from the vixen's body. Amazingly,he sensed a tiny flicker of life within her, he touched her and felt for her pulse. He found none, but he sensed that she was alive, but very close to death. He touched the wound in her chest and it was healed. "Maybe there is hope for her. But we have to hurry"He shifted the babe to his other paw and picked up the vixen with great exertion. 'teleportius' he called out and the three were magically carried to redwall. Two mice were shocked as he appeared before him. He laid both the babe and the vixen down on the ground. "the babe will live, but as for the mother... You two, run and get me some medical supplies quickly." They nodded and ran toward the abbey. He examined the babe first, the babe was very young only a season or two from what he could tell. Healus feverise" He touched the babe on the forehead and felt his fever slowly begin to die. 'When those two mice get back , I'll give you to them and you'll be nursed back to health. ' He said with a smile. He then tended to the vixen. He closed his eyes and began pushing on her body, sending energy through her. He felt for her pulse again and found it, It was faint and irregular. "well her heart's beating again, but I don't know if she'll make it. He kept pushing on her, and then listening. Lord Stripetail

The Vixen's heartbeat gradually became stronger and slowly gained a rythum. Stripetail then turned to the babe and felt its forehead. It still had a fever, but it wasn't as bad as before. Lord Stripetail

OOC: Sorry Stripey but she's going to die I don't mean to critisize but have you ever heard of powerplaying?
BIC: Mita looked at the badger and gasped blood trickling out of her mouth she got a strange paranormal glow in her eyes and whispered a ryme in a singsong voice "Far over misty mountains to dungeons deep and caverns cold You must away ere break of day To seek the help of Badgers old The moles of yore made mighty spells while hammers fell like ringing bells for ancient king and Wolven lord to stop the Cruel one's evil horde On silver necklaces they strung the flowering stars and crowns they hung The dragon fire they meshed the light of Moon and Stars Far over misty mountains dim We must away ere break of day To win our torn Freedom from her". She grasped the badgers paw the light faded from her eyes and she fell dead

Stripetail Whispered to the vixen. "Rest, child of Desir, Your troubles are over." he crossed her arms and dug a hole . He then laid Mita into the hole and buried her, placing a marker over the grave. When he was finished, he spoke." I promise vixen, that I will care for your son. I will see to it that he grows up knowing the goodness of the world." He bowed his head, and then went over and picked up the babe. "Let's get you fixed up. The babe whimpered, and Stripetail patted his head as he carried him inside. Lord Stripetail OOC: Yes I do know what powerplaying is Rhita, and I had already planned for her to die in my next post anyway.

OOC: ok Tarquin isn't much good for power playing now so I'm going to speed up his growth in a flasj foward later the seasons changed and unchanged Rhita was wreaking havic on MossFlower and was heading toward RedWall Tarquin now was a member of RedWall but he was an outcast the only vermin ever to live their after HawkEye had died he had very little friends and the elders especially misstrusted him... Tarquin sat by the stream bank he wished StripeTail was home from his travels he was suppose to return today he like badgers they didn't make him feel so big and clunky this was afterall a place of moles and mice creatures a normal fox would be battling or running from he sighed his ears flattening he didn't even know if he could be considered a Dibbun at all

Stripetail walked into the abbey. Rhita was wreaking havoc on the creatures of MossFlower, her constant recruiting had caused most of the families in the forest to flee to Redwall for safety. "Soon she will come here." He thought. He noticed Tarquin sitting at the side of the pond. 'Hello Tarquin. I'm back" He said with a smile. Lord Stripetail

Stripetail Commanded. "STOP!" The Dibbuns stopped poking Tarquin and turned toward Stripetail. He strode towards them, and they stopped laughing. "Get off him. He is a resident of this abbey , and no creature of Redwall deserves to be treated like this.' He shooed the Dibbuns off of Tarquin and helped him to his feet. His nose was bleeding, and he was bruised where the Dibbuns had poked him with the stick. He turned towards the Dibbuns, and his fsace broke into a smile. "Now run along and play" he told them shooing them away. The Dibbuns began laughing again and ran off. "We got the vermin!" they said cheerifully. "We slayed him good." As they ran towards the courtyard, Stripetail helped Tarquin towards the infirmatory. "let's get you looked at. Your nose is bleeding and you've got some bruises, but not much to worry about Tarquin. Do the Dibbuns always treat you like that?" Lord Stripetail

Tarquin rubbed his nose thoughtfully and looked at the scars and brusies all over his fur from months of this "What do you think"? he said dryly he wasnt really feeling as happy as he had been he wished he had more friends and he also wished he was not a fox It would make all the difference if I was a mole or a mouse he thought bitterly

I see.' Stripetail said. "You can't change your appearence Tarquin, as much as you'd like to. You're a fox, you'll simply have to deal with it. " He sighed. "As for the Dibbuns, the time will come when they will regret treating you like this. I know that you'd rather be Mouse or a mole than a fox, simply because then you'd be more accepted and have more friends. But once, again you're not, not that it matters, now that I'm back the Dibbuns won't bother you." Stripetail said. Lord stripetail

As Stripetail finished, Gwennias, the ferret gatekeeper, walked toward them, looking unhappy. "Have you heard?" she asked Stripetail, "Rhita's been sighted, and she's heading this way." Then she saw Tarquin. "Hello, sweetie, what happened to you?" she inquired softly, kneeling down to the young fox's level, although she didn't really need to because she was so short. CP

Then we'd best get ready for a long siege. Ring the bell, and bring all the woodlanders in. Once they are all safely inside then close the doors. Lord Stripetail

Gwen nodded and ruffled Tarquins headfur lightly. "Quiet guy, ain't he?" she said to Stripetail. Then she realized he was expecting her to warn the others. "I'll see you later." she murmured softly before dashing to the bell tower. Strange. I found out about Rhita's approach more then ten minutes ago and the bell still hasn't rang. she thought suddenly as she headed up the first flight of stairs. Then she heard an alarming scream that sounded like a Dibbun she knew. "Quilfus?" she whispered. I'd better go find out what's going on! she thought before running back down the steep stairs.
