Skie nodded, then cringed slightly.

"Ready? One... Two... Three!" Both saurians started to pull with all their strenght, until at last the blade was freed from its bloody scabbard. It did took them some effort though. "There, deal done." The raptor panted, releasing the sword's handle.

Skie stepped back a pace, wearing a grimace of disgust. "Thank you," he muttered sickly.. something seemed to be paining him though. Sometyhing other then his weak stomach. After a few seconds, he broke down, asking the shameful question. "Sir, I thought i could.. I wanted to help, but I can't. I'm afraid. I don't want to die.." His crisp, blue eyes were wide and scared, His grip on the bloody sword was shaking visibly.

"It's... It's alright." Kaa-Seken replied, his voice quivering. "Just... Just try to stay alive." He added, leaning against a wall for support. He couldn't blame the shuvuuio. Heck, the velocyraptor didn't fell any better. The only reason why he didn't panic yet was, that he hadn't been in a big squirmish yet. All he did was "sniping" orcs from the walls. He could only imagine what the shuvuuio must've been through.

Skie almost felt better, once he saw that this surian was scared too. The voice in his head that had been nagging him; You're a coward. They aren't scared, you have no right to run... it all stopped. "I will," he said finally. "'try and stay alive'." he repeated the velocyraptor's words, looking down at his sword. The blood was sticky, and it it was matted in the feathers running along his elbows. "Let's stay together," Skie suggested airily, "it will give us a better chance maybe.."

"Agreed." The raptor replied, nodding. A shadow in the corner of his eye caught Kaa-Seken's attention and he turned to see what it was. The sight however send chills down his spine. The structure looked like a massive tower, made of wood and covered in all kinds of thorns and shields to protect the soldiers inside from any spears or arrows. Unlike most other towers however, this one possessed a couple of wheels at his feet and was pulled and pushed towards the city by armoured horses and orcs alike.
"Siege tower!" A soldier from somewhere on the wall screamed. "This is getting worse and worse." The raptor said, quite frightened right now. He swallowed the lumb in his throat and tried, although to no avail, to stop his body from trembling. "Come on! We've got to do something!" He shouted towards the shuvuuio and darted off to where the siege tower was about to halt. If the orcs hidden inside managed to raise a boarding ramp towards the city wall, even more orcs would be pouring across the balustrades.

Skie nodded, almost spazmatically. It all seemed surreal now. He was on automatic. "Alright." He followed the velocyraptor, gripping and regripping his short sword. he could only imagine what would come next. In his mind, it was nothing but a sea or orcs, all armed to the teeth and bearing down on him.. he was frozen with fear. His sword arm just wouldn't move.. He tripped over a body and caught himself, with a fleet jump. It started him from his terrors and he focused on right now. "They're coming fast," he said worriedly to his companion.

Enyo could not believe what she was witnessing. The great city seemed on the verge of falling to the orcs. Despite the fact that she never associated herself with the city dwellers she still felt a rising need to help them. She was of the Pachycephalosauridae, a proud warlike group, despite her dark twisted tendancies towards Necromancy. I will help them defeat this enemy. By the Fates I will Enyo vowed silently. As she worked herself up to make another go at the horde she glanced at her right arm. The blow the orc had delivered to her shoulder had weakened her right arm but had not made it useless. Pacing back and forth on the hill top she searched for her point of attack. It was then that Enyo's gaze fell on the seige tower, that would be her target. Quickly she raced around the back of the horde to where the throng was thinnest near the seige tower. With strenth and will born anew of determination Enyo pushed her way into the horde. In a whirlwind of steel she carved a path of destruction towards the tower I'm almost there, just a little further she thought to herself. Once she was only a few feet from the tower Enyo stopped and plunged her sword into the blood soaked earth. Kneeling down she quickly grabbed a claw full of the wet black earth and formed it into a rough ball. "Reaper's Fire spark forth and spread fast, fanned by the winds of death." Enyo shouted as she lobbed the earthen mass into the seige tower. As the earthen mass sailed towards the tower the ouside became wreathed in purple black flame. When the molten mass landed it splattered on the inside of the tower catching everything flammable alight. Enyo, though, did not get to witness her triumph becuase she was knocked senseless by a blow to the head by a nearby orc...

Skie watched in amazment as the tower he was running towards went up in flames. Orc's threw themselves from the growing fire, as if the fall would somehow be less leathal. As the tower began to colapse in on itself, sending up huge plumes of ash and coal, Skie looked at where the spell had come from. He looked up just in time to see her fall. After she fell, the orc was slashed across the back by a surian soldier and fell from the wall, landing with a sickening crash only feet before Skie and his companion. "Up there!" Skie shouted, pointing with his blade, "she needs help." He hesitated, then started foreward when he saw the stairs that led to the upper battlements. Leaping easily over the orc's body, he tore away up the stairs.

"Right." The raptor replied, following his companion up the battlements which had transformed into an all out skirmish. The defenders of the city fought valiantly against the orc hordes, but the end of this battle had yet to be decided. Kaa-Seken forced these thoughts out of his mind. There was no room for that now. Survival was all that mattered now.

Keeping the fallen Enyo in the corner of his vision, Skie bolted up the stairs, trying to avoid the delay of the brawl before him. Springing lightly, he avoided an orc's swordtip as it whistled by his midsection. he only used his small arming sword to catch and deflect the blows that were thrown at him as he made his way slowly up the stairs. He looked up. They were early halfway there. Glancing back at the velocyraptor, he readied himself to give a shout of warning, there was an orc charging towards him, but his words were cut short. An arrow thudded hard into his side, just above his hip. The force of the blow knocked him back a few steps, but he stayed on his feet. In pain and bafflement, he stared down at the shaft patruding from his chainmail, burried deep under his scales. He stood swaying for a moment, then as he saw the blood start to seep between the chan links, he bliked hard a few times. The melee around him began to spin, making teh already crazy battle something of a blur. Taking a sharp breath, he cumpled to his knees, strugling to stay concous.

"Crap!" The raptor cursed, seeing the young shuvuuio fall. He was about to race to him and try to help him, but a battle cry from behind made him turn around and stop in his tracks. It was only due to his quick reflexes, caused from the tension, that saved his life from certain death. The orcish warblade nicked the side of his head and cut a nasty wound into his face, running from his snout all the way up to his cheek. A cry of pain escaped his lips, and the raptor stumbled back and lost his balance. The claw that snapped up and released another flash bolt which burnt the orc to death and saved his life was more an instinctive reaction as well. The raptor gasped and panted, trying to calm himself and command his body to move and shakingly, he made his way up to the shuvuuio to see if he was alright. If the raptor could help him somehow.

Skie was determined to stay on his feet. He blinked hard, and tried to straighten up, but to no avail. He flinched and took a knee again, clinging to the stairs like a drunk beast. An orc came runnig out of the crush and tripped over the shuvuuio, tumbling down the stiars. watching teh orc, he glanced at the raptor, only maaging to see that he was covered in his own blood, bleeding from teh head. Skie stiffled a sob of pain, and anguish at the sight of his companion. I can't help him. He told himself, still clutching the shaft that was buried deep in his hip. Pushing himself up onto three legs, Skie half crawled, half ran out of the brawl, seeking a place where there would be less clumsy feet.
Finally letting himself fall, he slumped under stairwell. The cries off battle were everywhere, but slightly distant. It seemed the worst of the battle had worked it's way dow to the lower parts of the Surian stronghold. Now out of the melee, he leaned back and rested his head on one of the stone steps, closing his eyes and swollowing hard. He took his claw from the shaft and looked at his bloody feathers briefly before closing his eyes again. His reptilian tongue parted his dry cracked lips. Things were spinning. He felt light after losing so much blood, like there was nothing too him. The only thing he really knew was that the sun was warm on the stone benieth him.

Kaa-Seken didn't see what happened to the shuvuuio, for he was busy trying to evade the fallen corpse of an orcish warrior. When he looked up again however, the shuvuuio was nowhere to be found. A cold claw clutched his stomach suddenly, his eyes darting around madly to search for his comrade. He couldn't be dead. Could he?
The raptor shook these thoughts out of his mind. He had to find him. He had to help him! As if the thought itself was pure energy, the raptor could feel his worn body coming to life again, sparkling with newfound energy. It was the worry for his brothers in arms, which granted him this sudden boost of energy.
"Shock!" He called out and a ray of deadly lightning flowed from his claw tips, electrocuting a random orcish warrior from behind. The heavily armoured tyrannosaur whom the fallen had been fighting with, looked up towards Kaa-Seken, smiled briefly and waved his claw in thanks before he charged into battle once again.
The young raptor breathed in heavily. The tyrannosaur is right. This was not the time for long conversations, but a time of battle. And right now, he was more than willing to do his part in this all out battle. "Defend!" He called out and shortly after he was surrounded with a soft, yellow-whitish light of a shield spell that would somewhat protect him from harm. A basic shield spell offering little protection, but it would do the job. Besides, the raptor couldn't really allow to let any of his mana go to waste.
"I'm coming, buddy." He whispered under his breath, before he charged with an ancient, raptorian warcry into battle, ice spell at the ready.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Snork Gro-Mutzgar smiled slightly, as he scanned the small stone in his huge paw. The orcish warlord couldn't understand what made it so special. Sure, it was a beautiful jewel, but the orcish warlord had hundreds of these stones in his possession. Nearly enough to create his own kingdom.
Eventually though, he shrugged it off. It didn't really matter. After all, he did have now what he wanted. Gaining access to the temple had been easy enough, with all the fighting and skirmish in the entire city. The priests hadn't put up much of a fight at first either and neither had it been difficult to gain access to the catacombs. However, the orcish warlord had to admit that the priests guarding the stone had been quite skilled.
With several of his honour guards slain, it had been at long last somewhat tricky to get it, but then again it was good that way. Otherwise, Snork would have probably been utterly dissapointed. He pocketed the small thing and quickly turned to walk back the path he and his fellow orcs came from to exit the catacombs and the temple above it.
"The imperials are still putting up much of a struggle. Plundering the city won't be easy." His chief advisor, an orc shaman, said. "Who cares." Snork Gro-Mutzgar replied. "We have, what we came for and I am not wasting anymore the lives of my loyal soldiers. Call the retreat." He ordered, and the shaman nodded silently.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kaa-Seken recognised the sound the orcish horn instantly, though he was unfamilar with the signal it gave. He didn't need to wonder for long, as he noticed the flow of orc warriors slowing down, until they slowly started to retreat to whatever means they had used to climb the battlements in the first place.
However he, like all other defenders with him, were unwilling to let their enemies leave without bloodshed. Devoid of any emotion at all, the raptor picked himself a target and readied his attack. "Hailstone!" He cried out and a fist sized, glowing blue-whitish sphere left his claw only to hit a light armoured, retreating orc. Upon impact, the orc froze almost immediately, swayed for a moment and then fell only to shatter into several pieces upon hitting the cold stone of the battlements.
Kaa-Seken felt exhausted, gasping for air. The boost of strength, power and energy had left him as soon as the orcs started to retreat. His legs shoke and he collapsed in total exhaustion. It was over. The battle was over, and the city had stood its grounds. He only vaguely heard the cheers of the other saurians, as it started to become darker around him. The nasty gash across his cheek throbbed with pain and he could feel blood running down his cheek. The raptor started to grew weary, to get tired. A long, nice sleep was just what he needed...
His last thoughts before falling asleep where of the young shuvuuio, and if he had survived.

Enyo felt as though she was moving through thick muck as she struggled to regain consiousness from the blow she had suffered. She was lost in a darkness that she was unfamiliar with but gradually she managed to come too. With a slight groan she slowly reached for the back of her head. The orc who had stuck her had managed to strike her close to the base of her skull since any other blow would have had little effect. As her suroundings gradually came back into view she realized that the fighting had almost ended. Pushing herself up into a crouching position, Enyo took hold of her fallen sword and surveyed her surroundings. The bodies of orcs and saurians were strewn everwhere along the city's defenses. As her senses cleared she grew ever increasingly aware of the looks of ill favor that were being cast on her. She knew that she did not belong here. Enyo sheathed her sword after wiping it off on the nearby carcas of an orc warrior before trying to gain her feet. Shakily she stood, still woozy from the blow to her head...
