Welcome to our bolthole" said an otter. "I see Sanimus has brought you here safely. We'll reach the village in the nmorning. But for now, this place will serve as a rest stop. I'm Nanook, that's Surefoot, over there is Treeflower, and that fellow is named Waveblade."

Reddal nodded to each of them in turn in an amiable fashion, trying to look as friendly as his usually sombre features would allow. He wanted to make friends of these creatures, and go to there village with them. It was always good to know that there was a place to stop and good creatures somewhere when he was travelling.

"So pick out any spot you care to sleep, and in the meantime, we'll prepare dinner for you. You must be starving"Nanook smiled, as he watched Reddal look around. "any old spot will do, we're not picky.."

OOC: Hello, I'll bring Luca Tinkerpaw into this RP. I've bumped his profile so you guys can check it out again if you like. Stripetail, you said you plain on having pirates attack? We've also got Captain Usarrian et al. if you two would like to use him and his fleet.. They were a pretty colorful group of pirates... BIC: A bottle crashed against the inside of the ship's cabin. Brandy exploded everywhere and showered down upon the beast it was thrown at; Luca had barely dodged the thrown object, but was showered in alcohol and glass. Shielding his face with a paw, he cringed at the shrill vixen as she vented her spleen on him. "I thought we had something special!" she shrieked, reaching for a silver hair brush on her vanity. Luca opened his mouth to speak, but the brush was thrown before he had a chance to. He dodged, and came back up with his paws raised in surrender. "I never said I'd marry you, Penelope! I just stowed away! You knew that I was getting off at the next stop!" The red vixen halted her assault, and leaned heavily on her vanity. The bottle of perfume that she was preparing to throw next, rolled from her paw. She gave a dry sob, but Luca didn't dare try to comfort her. The small gray fox eyed the door, hoping he could get off of the ship without further trouble... "Fine," Penelope finally croaked, "You're right... I should have thought ahead..." She stood up, and turned to him listlessly... "I'll send you on your way then..." ~~~~~ Luca was dragged out of the cabin by an ear and his tail, (Penelope had been sailing since she was 'naught but a pup, and was much stronger than Luca had assumed) and with a swift shove, he went tumbling over the edge of the ship like a cat tossed off a bridge. Before he plunged into thewater, he heard the vixen shout after him: "That's what yer bloody hide gets for breakin' a she-pirate's heart!" Then he went under, and everything was dark and quiet. Cold and miserable, Luca swam across the quiet sheltered bay and dragged himself up onto shore. As he turned back, he could see Penelope's ship anchored at the edge of the bay. He cast a bitter look upon it, and then wondered inland, hoping to find any kind of shelter that was to be had... OOC: Ok, so we've got pirates now..? I'm not sure if you had anything more specific for the plot, Stripetail. If so, just let me know.

(excellent Gyre. that will do nicely. Have Penelope be the bad gal, and try and pillage the island in her lust for vengence, and in an attempt to "win" Luca back, even if it kills him..Notice i said "him"

The sun was setting on the wet, raining evening as Luca wondered out of the scrubby, coastal forest. He stumbled down the rocks, and headed toward a craggy cliff to take shelter from the rain. Water dripping from his nose and ears, the fox darted beneath the rocks and shook himself like a dog. Shivering, he sat down hard and took his boots off, dumped the water out of them, and looked around in the twilight.. He squinted his eyes, at what looked like a shadow laying on the ground.. When he looked closer, it looked like a den of some kind... Luca was sure he could hear voices, and he stood up, and warily approached.

tHe ruffling sound of Luca's approach reached Sanimus's ears "Who's out there?' He said suddenly. "Be you friend or foe?"

Luca's wet ears pricked at the sudden query; the single silver hoop he wore in his left ear glinted in the orange sunset. "Neither," the fox replied quickly, looking around him to be sure there weren't more creatures hiding in the nooks and crags around him, "I'm lost and unarmed, so I'd be a poor enemy... Though, you've no reason to call me friend either..." With that, Luca back away from the bolthole, unsure of who or what lay inside.

(actually they are in the woods, but I'll just play along because it'll take awhile otherwise for our characters to meet) This bolt hole was actually the enterance to to a very long tunnel, which stretched under the cliff and ran underground for several nmiles before ending at the nook in the woods."If you are unarmed then you may enter.. we have food and a place where you can rest. The weather is bad oouside, we wouldn't want poor beast catching his death of chill" Sanimus said, his voice echoing in the tunnel..

(Well, I was picturing a coastal forest, with rocks and stuff... I dunno whatever. ) Luca hesitated for a moment. He swished his tail like a cat, and then seemed to make up his mind. Shivering, he cast a weary glance at the red sun as it just vanished in the distance. The rain was still coming down, and started getting harder. Luca crouched down and entered the bolthole, as rainwater trickled down around his boots. Once inside, he found the tunnel much taller than he had imagined, and with a look of pleasant surprise, he straightened up to his full height. It was also notably warmer that outside. He looked down the long tunnel, and saw a warm, glowing light where it bent. He also saw shadows of creatures moving about... "Hello?" Luca slowly moved towards the warmth, and smell of food...

Sanimus noticed the shadow of Luca growing larger as he came closer. "Hello!" He called out. "Welcome to Tisona Island. I'm Sanimus.. and who might you be?"

The gray fox slowly rounded the corner, and the warm firelight and wonderful aromas flooded his senses. He was still dripping wet, and his darkened fur stood in spiky clumps. He looked the otter Sanimus from head to tail, and then offered a weary smile. "Good evening..." He said, ruffling the fur between his ears with a paw, "Tisona Island you say?... I am father from Mossflower than I thought... That wretched Penelope has spun me all around...." Luca stopped himself from getting off topic, and reached a paw out to Sanimus. "Sorry mate... My name is Luca Tinkerpaw..."

"Well I have no idea where Mossflower is" Sanimus said, shaking his paw. "But you're welcome to stay here with us, until you can find your way, whereever that may be..

"Ah, right now I'm not interested in finding my way anywhere..." Luca muttered, eying some food over the otter's shoulder. "I'm much more interested in staying right here.... and that wonderful smell...." He lifted his nose into the air dreamily.

Reddal glanced up at the new arrival while sitting in the spot he had picked at the edge of the bolt hole, slightly apart from the others. He didn't need to know what species Luca was, he could smell it on the air, the smell of vermin. And to Reddal, that could mean only one thing, and that was that an enemy had just entered. He decided not to say anything, but he would be wary of the new beast. He slowly sifted through the arrows in his pouch, counting them.
