"Once again," Luca began, "in my defense.. she was rather.... insistent. It's not fair to fum at m simply because I was in teh wrong place at the wrong time.." Luca was beginning to feel he was very unwanted, and gazed back teh way he'd come... the cold, driving rain was more welcoming than the bolt he had just found himself in. The only thing that kept him put, was his unwillingness to tern his back on the hare, Reddal...

The hare in question sighed impatiently. "What information was it you said you had? How many targets are on board ship? What kind of weaponry do they have? Anything useful?" Reddal was becoming increasingly irritated with the fox, his seemingly jocular attitude and his excuses. This sort of beast should be a target, not a source of information.

Sanimus put his fpoot down. ' alright, Luca, like it on not, its better that you stay with us, than risk getting caught by those seavermin. Besides.. that meat pie should be just about.. DONe" He popped open the oven, and covering his paw with a rag, pulled out a pipping hot meat pie. "Be careful guys its VERY hot.. Its big enough for 3 beats.."

"I'll stay so long as I don't have my throat cut in the night..." The fox cast one last glace over the tall hare, and then sat and shared the meat pie with the otter. He spoke between mouthfuls: "Penelope has to prove herself to a renowned pirate-master type fellow... Captain Usarian. She told me one night about how she wishes so terribly to join his elite fleet of pirates.. but he would not have her. Her 'resume' so to speak, was filled with small jobs, nothing big or bold or stunning... She was wondering teh sea in search of some big job to appear to her.. she's looking to make history here.. and then bring such a tail back to Usarian that he'll accept her like a long lost babe... but she'll need the spoils to prove it, and the slaves perhaps.. "

Isn't that typicval of most seabeasts? Always trying to out-do each other, and prove how big and bad they are. Usually its thier slaves that suffer for it..." Sanimus replied..

Reddal caught the young fox's glance and shifted slightly in his spot, this being the only betrayal of the amount of restraint he was exercising. It was only the presence of Sanimus and his friends that stopped him from grabbing for his weapons and attacking Luca now. The mention of slavery unsettled him even more. He had his own views on that matter which he chose not to mention.

Sanimus noted the look on Reddals face and spoke wordlessly. "We'll talk later" He mouthed to the hare.. then turned to eating some of the meat pie, which was excellent...
