Gitana had tried not to flinch too much as Valarie had inspected her wounded shoulder. It pained her greatly, almost as bad as her wounds from the night of the bandit attack. Silently she hoped that she would have full mobility of her shoulder once it was healed. She had not examined the wound to judge it's extent but it felt as though she could not use her left arm at all.
"I've never heard or seen such stuff but if you say it'll help 'er then we'll give it a try. You just lay back on this bench and we'll have you patched up in no time, deary." Valerie said as she gently laid down on the bench she was sitting on.
Gitana allowed Valerie to ease her back on the bench. In truth she was scared for once. There was little that frightened her but the thought of not being able to use her left arm ever again was one of them. She did not want to have to rely on others more than what she already did. The one thing that did ease her fears slightly was that Stripetail was still there. She was slowly coming to trust him because he had helped her so much.
"We'll see if I can keep from having to fight or the next three days." Gitana laughed slightly. "Oh I'll make sure you won't because I may keep you here for the next day or so. I've seen you too many times today, deary." Valerie said sternly as she gathered the supplies to mend Gitana's shoulder...

You may have to hold her down, this potion does tend to sting as it goes into efffect.." Stripetail said as he slowly poured the contebnts of the vial into the wound. it fizzkled a bit, and was probably causing her a good deal of pain. "i'm sorry if it is hurting you Gitana, but this stuff does work, it is made from the firum spelari plant, ot as it has come to be called the 'inner light' plant. one of its effects is to create a sene of calm in the person beinf treated with it. ithere are of course limits to what it can heal, but i think your shoulder is not so gravely injured that it won't be able to heal it. However, you must not move your shoulder if you can help it. the ;longer you can keep it still the faster your shoulder will heal. " Stripetail said. "If it gets injured again I fear there will be permanent damage to it"

Zerstoren jumped a little, then relaxed when he saw it was one of the infirmarists (is that even a word?). "Oh....ah.....no.....not really....Err.....where am I?"

Valerie pressed down on Gitana's other shoulder while Stripetail treated her wounded shoulder. Gitana did her best not to cry out as he treated her shoulder. She could not tell what he was doing, but it felt as though he was pouring liquid fire on her shoulder. Despite all her intentions to lie still she could not help but squirm and even whimper slighly. Once he had finished Valerie bound Gitana's shoulder in fresh bandages and even bound her arm so that she could not move her shoulder.
"Come on deary, let's get you in a proper bed so that you can rest. Good sir, you can put her things over there where those baskets are." said Valerie as she helped Gitana up from the bench and walked her to the back of the infirmiry tent where several beds were for the more seriously injured.
After Valerie had helped Gitana lay down on an empty bed, she brought her a small mug.
"Here, this will help you sleep. You've had a rough day." she said kindly as she helped Gitana drink the drought...

(No it isn't)' you're in the infoirmary tent. this is where the wounded are treated" tjhe squirrell replied. 'Are you injured or not?" _ Stripetail put Gitansa belonging into a basket and took it with him. 'she is used to having her spear with her, it is a connection to her past, and when she was able to see.. I see no reason why we should refuse to let her hold onto it.." He said to Valerie. "erhaps the comfort hthat it is still there, will help her sleep more peacefully>"

"I suppose that it couldn't hurt to do that. I'll have Meara clean it up and put it next to her bed." Valerie said as she took the spear from Stripetail and handed it to a young hedgehog maid who was passing by.
Gitana though sound alseep, was far from sleeping peacefully. In her dreams she was taken back to the night of the bandit's attack on the troup and her family. Despite trying to put the events of that long ago night behind her they still tended to haunt her. The bandits had waited til nightfall when most of the troup was asleep leaving only her father on watch. Gitana and her mother were asleep in the cart since it was their turn to sleep in the cart. She had been awokened by the sreams of fellow troup members as the bandits ambushed their camp. Looking out of the back of the cart she saw her father surounded by four of the bandits. Gitana had watched in awe at the glimmering paterns of death that her father wove with the moonlit tip of his spear. She only got to watch for a moment before her mother pulled her back into the cart. It was not long thouhg before the bandits threw a couple of torches onto the cart, which caught quickly. Silently Gitana and her mother slipped out of the cart but hid on the far side trying to stay out of sight. It did not take long for the cart to become fully engulfed in flames and toppled over onto them. Her mother was trapped in the burning wreckage while Gitana was showered with burning debris. Terrified, she lay on the ground suffering through the searing pain of the burning wreckage that lay on top of her.
Then, in a flash of light, Gitana found herself standing alone in that same clearing. This time, the clearing was empty. From out of the dark shadows of the forest her father appeared.
'Gitana, why do you fight in this competition?" he asked. "I fight to prove that I am not an invalid that has to depend on others to survive. I fight to show that my skills are just as good as though who can still see." Gitana answered, tears forming in her eyes at the thought of being an invalid. "You are no invalid. You are as strong as you ever were, but we must all rely on others at times to help us.' her father said, taking step forward. "Are you angry with me for entering into this competition?" Gitana asked, her father never showed when he was angry or disapointed in her. "No, I'm not angry with you. I have come to give you some guiding words Gitana. You must not excede your limitations. You are blind now and there are others that would take advantage of that to harm you. You learned that leason well today. The fox knew that today, he just wanted to seek glory by defeating you. Wait for your opponent to come to you. Trust your eas and your sense of toutch. Also, never losen your grip on your spear. Once your enemy has your weapon, he has you." her father said gently to her. "Could you give me one more lesson?' Gitana asked as her father started to turn to leave. "Yes, I can." he said turning back.
With the thoughts of the bandit's attack behind her, Gitana sparred with her father in her dreams. It was as things had been...

Stripetail stayted by Gitana's bedside, keeping a close eye on her. "You must not fight for awhile my friend, you must rest and recover..

"Err...ah..no....was just wandering around...." The ferret quickly dashed out the door, running into someone in the process. He fell over with a loud thump, landing on his nose.

" The squirellmaid went over and helped Zerstoren to his feet.. " Watch where you are going. If you are not injured now, you will be by the time you're done fighting, one way or another..

The ferret nodded. "yes....thanks...." He scurried off to avoid a confrontation with whomever it was he collided with.

OOC: Sorry i've been gone so long. I'll try to be on as much as possible, but school is not making anything easier.
BIC: Graf awoke in his dim tent, with his face in the dirt. He rose to a kneeling position, but keeled over and fell back onto his face. Arrows were gouging at every part of his head, and he was disoriented: up was down, down was down, left was up, right was up. He just lay there for a few more moments, when something pricked the base of his skull, and a soft voice told him, "I'd stay at my feet where you belong, scum."
OOC: I'll post a new character sheet for this character later.

Several hours after Valerie had given Gitana the sleeping drought she gradually began to awake. She was unaware of what time of day it was and she barely remembered where she was in her dowsy state. Gitana remembered that she had been injured in her last fight and her shoulder still throbbed. Clumsily she tried to get up, falling back once as she groped about for her spear.
"No, no dear. Lie back down, you need your rest." Valerie said as she hurried over to Gitana. She had become very fond of Gitana and had taken her as her own special charge.
"No. No more rest, I want to leave this place. Where is my spear...my belongings?" Gitana mumbled, barely coherant as she tried to push Valerie away....

"i have them" Stripetail said getting up from his seat near her bedside.. "You have been asleep for several hours Gitana.. but your shoulder needs more time to heal, another bad injury to it will likely result in permanent damage to your shoulder, unless you allow your shoulder to fully heal.... But that aside, how are you feeling? Stripetail said, getting up from his seat and moving over close to the bed.
