Merrik's eyes widened at the stoat...
Geldor stood straight up. "Now hold on there!" he protested. "My Lord Stripetail, we were not told by joining this group we would be involved in deliberate murder!"
The fox in the corner looked up at the group, squinting his eyes at what he just heard...

"Now hold on... calm down." Ladorak said, holding up a paw. "These are vicious... foul creatures... the worst kind." he explained. "I don't intend to involve anyone... ANYONE in my personal vendettas. You don't even have to come to the city if you don't want to. I need to put this behind me though... I need closure to it. I was done a very great wrong... and all I'm looking to do is right it." he told them.
"Now then... after that's out of the way, we'll be searching for the key to raising the island from the sea. That island belonged to a very powerful wizard... and some say there's fantastic riches there, though as far as I'm concerned, that's just part of the legend. If there is... so be it. If there isn't... so be it. I just want to know the truth... I was almost killed over that island, so there has to be SOMETHING there, eh?" he asked. "I need to know about my past... about why all these things happened to me... that's why I'm seeking it."
He paused now, looking around the table. "Yes... I have an adventurer's spirit... but that doesn't mean I will involve any of you in things you do not wish to be involved in." He glanced briefly at Stripetail, figuring it was a bad idea to have come here in the first place. First off... his personal vendetta was his own... he couldn't ask good beasts to kill for him after all. Second... he wasn't sure it was wise spreading this information around like this... which was why he was speaking in low tones... and also not revealing much more about the legend, other than what he'd said.

Mitsuhide looked up, eyes bright and slightly eerie. "Excellent. Finally, a chance to get back at those in the Imperium. Maybe I'll finally be able to go back to my home." He said, grinning coolly...

Merrik stood up on the chair, looking at Geldor. "He's right, you know," he said. "We don't have to enter where they're going. But what if there are folks that need to be freed from what he's talking about? Just like Martin the Warrior did long ago."
Geldor calmed down and replied in a softer tone. "But Martin was a warrior. Folks like you and I are defenders of Redwall, not such warriors. It takes a special kind to become a warrior..."
"But there were defenders, and even regular folk, that became Warriors of Redwall. At least let's see and observe before we make our decisions. Like what you taught."
Geldor chuckled and rubbed Merrik's head. "At least I know you're learning..." He looked again to Ladorak. "We will go and see what this Imperium is about. As young Merrik said, there could be those who need help."

"Yes... there are some who would need help. Most of them are degenerates however... but there are a few decent and good creatures there. As a matter of fact..." the stoat looked over at Stripetail. "I'm not sure why we're going there. You insisted I do so, and I do want to... but with such a large group I'm not sure it's... wise to get them involved. This is more of my personal vendetta after all... Iwe shouldn't involve everyone else here." he waved his paw around the table.
He was of course, referring to Stripetail wishing to make him Emperor. Ladorak wasn't sure that sat well with him. He'd do it, if nobody else would but... he'd rather just set things right there, and then leave. Dillsweld would be the next logical place to start looking for the key to the fabled island... and he had every intention of stopping off there on his travels.
"Though I suppose we have enough to do there as well... and there may be a clue or two. I'm not entirely sure just yet. I guess we'll find out when we get there."

you will not be involved any assassinations Geldor' stripetail replied " That falls on Ladorak here.. and on him alone.. that is his business. what the rest of us will be focused on is the quest for this treasure.Warriors come in many shapes and sizes..and from many backgrounds. many are simple beasts at the start, defending what is theirs, a few are warriors from the outset..

Geldor looked back at Merrik before replied. "Then it seems you still have us along, my Lord."
The fox in the corner listened in, but he had made sure not to respond with gestures to indicate that he was listening.
