"Yes, It may be nothing, but something in the last week, it just dosen't feel right. Well, we need to get some sleep. Gotta get a good start in the morning."
OOC: I'm gonna hold you for a couple of months, ok?
The next few months proved uneventful, the previous feeling of uneasyness was forgotten, the construction was complete, the larders stocked and the armory full. Everything was going acording to plan. The treasury was aslo full of gold that had been mined from the surrounding mountains, the veins mand good passages up and down the entire mountain chain. Xylon was even given a whole mountain, it was bieng hollowed out to his specifications.

OOC: Fine with me.
Xylon stood by on the mountain connected with the badger's. He surveyed the work that was being carried out by a score of mountaineers lended to him by Lord Brickstripe. He felt a chill run up his spine when he looked at the winding mountain path that curved upwards. Yelling across the mountains to the badger, the wolf cried out, "Have your creatures ever gone to the top of the mountains?!"

"Some of them went once, they encountered feirce birds and blizzards." he yelled back. He looked behind him, to where his two ships lay at anchor. He spotted another vessle out on the horizon. He told Basil to raise the alarm and get everyone but the trained soldiers into the mountain. He was going with a score of others to the jetty to meet this newcomer, be it friend or foe.

Xylon saw what the cause of the distress was, and after getting the workers into a cave dug by moles, he swiftly descended his mountain to join the badger.

Basil had sent one of the lesser capitans and the rest of the patrol to guard the villagers in the mountain, he and 18 others with Xylon met Brickstripe walking down the path. Everyone had weapons drawn, knowing that this could easily involve a fight.

Xylon was twirling his mace-and-chain. With the numbers they had, nobeast would have to slay many, even if the ship was packed full of vermin. His choice of weapon virtually garunteed a one-hit-kill.

Brickstripe's emense longsword was a formidable weapon, as was Basil's long scythe. The purpose of their weapon stores was to keep the enemy at a distance, so as not to injure yourself unduly.

Xylon was actually enjoying exercising his mace. The handle was 10", the chain 3' and the metal ball at the end spiked. Like the mountainers, his chosen weapon was meant to deal out blows within close range, but not as close as to let the enemy hurt you.

As the vessel came closer to the shore, the figures on the deck were more detailed. They were not vermin, but lizards from the distant isle of Sampetra.

Xylon peered upward at the scaley creatures. They had been in Mossflower before, about 50 seasons ago. Cowards at heart, but as strong as otters.

OOC: Yes.
Brickstripe knew that if these lizards were headed for the land they had made a strategical error. They were cold blooded and needed to be in the warmth to survive. "Ahoy! State your name and buiseness with the Northern Badger Lord!" Brickstripe hollered at the boat, just a spearlength away.

Xylon stood by the badger's side. He and the hare captain appeared to be relaxed, weapons at their sides, but they were as tensed as steel springs.

There was no reply from the ship, it slid up to the dock. It's keel scraping the sand on the shoreline. A monitor lizard wrapped in a heavy cloak, but shivvering came up on deck, hissing at the party on the dock.

Xylon, right claw on the the mace's handle and left claw on the chain, gave a low, quiet growl as he looked up at Brickstripe's face in search of a command.
