Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! The sounds of countless beasts hammering and digging away at the larges mountain in the North Mountain Chain, Mt. Highpeak, could be heard from miles away. Lord Brickstripe and his Mountain Hare Legion along with the local squirrel and mole populations hammered, chiseled, and bore into the mountain to make a stronghold and a small village out of the mountain. Everything else had been acounted for. Irrigation tunnels, fields, stairs and paths, everything but the actual carving and hewing the rocks had already been done ovet the past two seasons. Lord Brickstripe was driving a stake through a particularly hard bit of rock when a scream ripped from the back of the cave tunnel.

OOC: Just didn't want to wrongly butt in, thanks. Xylon traveled up the mountain pass. Eager to travel, he had left Mossflower for a new region, and decided to trek up the first mountain he came to. Upon seeing the creatures labor, it sparked a memory in his mind. Recalling the building of Redwall, it was apparent to him that these beasts were building some sort of structure to call home. Was it a castle? A village? Side-stepping off the road, the lone wolf took crouched and took a better look. It was definitely some sort of fort; there were tunnels too, maybe for escape or farming. Upon hearing a scream rip from a tunnel, Xylon threw himself flat and peered at the building. He caught sight of a huge badger as he did, one he couldn't recognize. Badgers hated vermin; maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to meet or join with the mountain northerners.

Lord Brickstripe was not in the mood to be trifled with. He saw everything, the wolf hiding and the wolverine attacking the end of the basket line. He charged in, sword upraised, rallying his hares "Eulailiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Xylon's ears stood stiff, recognizing the ancient call of Badger Lords. Upon seeing the wolverine and the enraged badger, he slowly took his sword out of the haversack, and stood, taking a hunter's stance while walking over to the construction, while staying far from both badger and wolverine.

Basil S. Big-Bones, the commander of the Long Patrol North Branch, direct descendant of Bucko Big Bones and Basil Stag Hare (Long story, check the Character Description). Heard his Lord's war cry. He gathered up the hares, bow beasts, pikes, swords, etc. and charged at the wolverine.

Brickstripe had gotten too close to use his sword, all he could do was a massive down wards chop, which cut deep into the wolverine's side. He was now forced to grapple with the ferocious animal. They were an even match, twice the wolverine tried to claw the badger's face and twice the badger retaliated by kicking the thing in the crotch, HARD. The problem with this, was it was a girl. DUN DUN DUN!

Xylon's scurry turned into a run, as he charged with the hares at the wolverine, his sword seeking it's flesh.

As the hares and wolf hit the wolverine, she lost her footing, seizing his chance, Brickstripe lunged. He toppled her over and bit deep into her throat. He pulled his head back, ripping the corroted, jugular and esophegous out. The wolverine lay there, dead.

Xylon recovered from the attack, his mouth line with the wolverine's blood. "Well, badger, it's clear that you're a warrior. Do you come from Salamandastron?"

"No, I hail from the North Pine Forest, I grew weary living in my Great Great Great Great Grandfather's tomb with the rest of my clan. So I ventured north to start a Long Patrol Branch and build myself a fortress."

Xylon talked as he sheathed his sword. "A Northern Long Patrol branch? I thought there was one already established...of course, that was more seasons ago then I care to remember."

"Well, sah, there was one such fine establishment some hundred seasons ago, by my great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great and so on and so forth till you get to Granpapy Bucko Big-Bones. Wot!" interjected Basil before anyone else could fathom a guess.

"We were hollowing this mountain out to suit my army and I as a fortress and a villiage." Brickstripe's gruff voice answered.
