Dust was already washing away the peticoat of pawprints that left their mark in the mud. wisping away the detail, and covering the marks. if you followed the quickly failing path, you would find yourself on a cobblestone road, leaves swirling in the air, cold wind washing though the pass.
Mikus sniffed an old brach, its timbers creaking and crackling, before collapsing onto the path. the old wolf sorted through the old timber, the splinters blossoming into balls of dust, bugs swelling in its center. Mikus delved into the bugs; old eyes trying to focus on the swarming mass. studying the behavior of the bugs, and the community population, he muttered things to himself, under his breath, his voice cracked with old age. he swept his eyes to the grey heavens, the clouds a mere grey blur in the vaults above. finishing his calculations, he continued down the road. thin slitted eyes watched him, from behind an old pine tree, scraping the ground beneath her claws, the wildcat inhaled, soft, silent.

Redstripe slept under a tree, his axe laying at his feet. His snoring wasn't as loud as usual. There was nothing wrong with how he was sleeping, but if you looked closly you would see one of his eyes was open slightly. He yawned and made it look real as he watched this old wolf walk up the road.E looks harmless, but ya never know with the wolves. He slowly moved his axe closer to his side, his hand rested on it. He seemed to awake as the wolf got closer,"Ellow mate, fine day fer a walk I supose." He waited for the wolfs answer and moved himself into a more comfortable position,"You look like you could stand to eat somtin soon."

Mikus didn't quite here him (He's a touch deaf) and continued closer to the sleeping beast. suddenly he caught sight of redstripe, reeling in horror he fell on his back, and had to stop himself from peircing his skin on the axe blade. he wriggeled away from the redstripe, before speaking in a rather shaken voice, "Well, I... Mikus, is my name... Um, yours?"

"Yes,that I would very much like to know indeed."Flight called from her perch in the tree. She was toying with her long dagger, careful not to accidently slice herself. That would be awkward for sure.

"Aaah, thankyou, R-redstripe, I',m just studying the biodversity of the creatures around these parts, very rich in bugs, very rich," he saw Flight, atop her perch with the dagger in her paws, and almost bolted, "Um... Heh..."

"My name's Flight."The squirrel replied.Seeing Mikkus fright, she sheathed her dagger and grinned."What are you afraid of?"She questioned.

Flight nodded."I see."She was still slightly suspicious, but not as much."So,where were you from?"She asked, attempting to make conversation.

"Um..." This conjured up a question which he had never pondered; where was he from? He thought he remembered a slight thing with bumping his head, very hard when he was small, but other than that... "I dunno..."

"Most amusing."Flight responded, not quite believeing him."I thought everyone must at least have a place to call home.Unless you are a wanderer.Even then,we do have a places we can hole up for several days. Not excatly the equivalent of home though.More like shelter."She stopped, eyes gleaming thoughtfully.
