History: Hailling from the far north, Zykoryth, like all arctic foxes, is virtually immune to the cold. Living in a village, he had what most would call a "hard life." In this village, Zykoryth and the other arctic foxes had to deal with some of the largest and most powerful predators of land. Having been taught survival skills at an early age, he knows what roots, plants, wild vegtables, etc. are good to eat. When he became old enogh to fight, he underwent a test all arctic foxes had to undertake, a coming of age ceremonial challenge. He was to survive out on the ice alone for a month. After using the skills taught to him, he suceeded. The village welcomed him back on his return, having a feast in his honor. About a week later, the village elders deemed him different from the others, in the way that his fur was always white as snow, never changing in the summer, fall, or spring, and said that he might be worthy to undertake a challenge that nobeast had undertook for many seasons. He was to journey to the top of a mountain, and on that mountain, the was a cavern addourned with all sorts of gemstones. He accepted the challenge and left the next week. The elders had said that the true succesor to an ancient line of warrior foxes would be the one who overcome the challenge, and would be rewarded with awe-inspiring weapons. They also said that the cavern had five terrible gaurdians, four of whom weren't even in the region. The final gaurdian would only fight the warrior who had defeated the other four. First gaurdian lived far to the south, just on the edge of the Mossflower country, some one-hundred thousand miles or more. He lived in an abandoned cavern, crawling through the deep. It was said that he was more ancient than any other crearure of its kind, and older than most other creatures, and horrificly strong. The second gaurdian was on an island where a pine marten once ruled as emperor, and was greatly feared by the inhabitants, even though all but a few had never seen him. Rumor had spread after he was encoutered the first time. A rat had been walking the shore with several companions in the evening, heading home from the bar. The was suddenly a great crashing, and then silence. In the morning, a wandering ferret had discovered the rat with only one other companion nearby. The one found was never the same after that night. whatever had done the attack had left him crazy with terror. He only described it as a "sea monster." He died shortly after. the third gaurdian lives in the bowels of a mighty volcano. The residents of the surrounding area say that on a dark night, you can see something on the top of the volcano. They also say that it is the cause of the frequent eruptions. The fourth gaurdian lives far to the east, in a vast desert. The residents have always said that the desert hides things, and they were right. Besides the sandstorms, heat, and other dangers, there is one spot in the desert that nobeast who would go to willingly. It is a vast oasis, filled with trees and fruits and streams that run pure, but there is also something lurking in the shadows. The final gaurdian is said to be a dragon, but that is just a rumor. He is the last of an ancient race, called the miacids. It is said that is as fast as wolf, as strong as a wolverine, and as cunning as a fox. The first four gaurdians have a tresure that can only be took when they were defeated. An emerald leaf, a sapphire water drop, a ruby ball of fire, and an amethyst stone. The final gaurdian will not fight unless you have all four.
After traveling for almost three years, he finally reached Mossflower. After searching the reason for another month, he found the entrance to the gaurdian's lair. An elder shrew of the Gousim advised against him going in there, but he went anyway. After reaching a vast cavern far under the ground, he found the gaurdian. At first he couldn't see it, because it was so dark. Slowly, his eyes adjusted to the dark. He could also hear a slithering noise echoing throughout the cavern. He looked up, and saw pair of large, yellow eyes. He then jumped behind a nearby pillar, because the creature lunged at him. He finally saw what it was. The biggest snake he had ever seen. He estimated that it was big enough to knock down a tree. He got out his sword, and began trying to outmaneuver it, which proved very difficult. He dodged an attempt for it to crush him in it's mouth, only to get slammed against the wall by it's tail. It then wrapped around him and started crushing him. His lungs felt like fire, and he thought he heard several ribs break. Then, everything was going fuzzy. He knew he was getting ready to black out, so he pulled at his sword arm, which had been pinned, he finally got it out, dislocating it in the process. He used hi other arm to hack at the snake's spinal column. After a few seconds, he cut through and immediately felt the snakes grip slacken enough that he could get out. He crawled over to the wall, lay against it, and looked at the snake. He had hit right below the neck, killing it instantly. He then fell asleep. When he awoke, he couldn't see anything, and he had no torches to light his way, so he slept till morning. After awaking, he dragged himself up, and went to look for the snake's treasure. After searching the whole cavern, he went outside and looked up, and saw it. It was at the top of the tree, in a squirrel's cache. He climbed up slowly, from injuries the night before. He finally reached it, and pulled out the emerald leaf. Just then, a crow came out of knowhere and knocked him off. After hitting nearly every branch on the way down, Zykoryth finnaly got up, and went back to the village he vivsited earlier.
When he left the shrews, he went towards the beach, some miles away. He arrived just before winter, only to be captured by the Long Patrol. After telling them many times he was not there for gold or treasure, they decided to let him out. There were some rules, though. He could not leave the mountain until they said he was free to go. He also had to let himself be "trained" in swordsman ship, soldiering life, and some other things. He was to out-box the best of them, out-duel the best of their swordsbeasts, and out-wrestle the Badger Lord. The first tasks weren't too difficult, but the last was another matter altogheter.
