Hitchaw woke with the sun and looked out at the pond,"Hmm, I wonder if that is still there." He dived under the water and surfaced a few minutes later,"Yesserie." He held a fishing pole in his paw,"Still hidden in me old cave." He sat down and dug a hole in the ground, he pulled a worm out and baited the small hook and threw the line out."Now ta wait for the big one."

Garrick and Mara ate wolfishly ((totally couldn't help myself)) and soon found themselves decently full for the first time in months.
Garrick wondered the grounds again, hoping to walk off some of the huge meal.
Mara sat crosslegged near the Abby pond, practicing a few small spells. In her belt as always, was her short staff. She pulled it out and drew the tip across the water's surface. Then with the slightest of signals, the ripples around the staff froze, like bulls'eyes glass. Twisting the small stick free of the thin ice, she waved a paw and sent the ice scooting out into the center of the pond. It melted quickly as she watched, pensively.

How'd you do that?' Dorsin asked

The wolf gave a start, half on her feet before she saw the mouse and dropped back into her seat with a sigh. "Just something I've been playing with," she muttered mildly, "why?"
Dispite herself, she was striving hard to show her gratitude; not something she was good at... Garrick usually handled the detailed matters of etiquette, but Mara wasn't sure where he was that moment...

"What's wrong?" she pushed, twisting an ear at him, "I haven't done something, have I?" There was a touch of courseness in her voice, but it tappered off.

"No, it's just your reaction, was.. er. a bit harsh" Dorsin said

Mara was doing her best to sound civil and she had to take a deep breath before continuing with what was left of her patiance, "I'm not as eliquent as my brother.." She turned back to the water, and started sending frosen ripples out into the pond; the ice was thicker, less fragile, and they swam around and bumped into one another like glass fish.

I Can see that "Dorsin murmured to himself. "Do you know magic?" He asked suddenly

Mara's first words were fast and slightly gruff, "Yes. Yes I do, and I'm not hurting anybeast with it, so why should it matter?" Her words were simply too harsh and her shoulders prickled slightly, but she strained not to turn on the mouse.

"And are they all looked at with suspision?" She sighed gruffly, sending out another spiral of ice, this one shattering a few of the half melted ones.

Well, its only natural that travelers are not .. greated openly.. if they are not .. pleasant to be around" Dorsin said haltingly, not sure really what to say.

Mara's lip stiffened, and she started to sit up, but as her grip tightened around her small staff; chips of melting ice still clinging to the tip, Garrick stepped up behind Dorsin.
The older wolf had no reason to believe that his sister wouldn't lash out at him for simply being in the way, but Garrick, though quiet and seemingly meek at times when conversing with the wolfess, had granite nerves, and he faced her with the utmost gentlness even as her staff was lifted towards his chest. "Mara, no."
The moment of tension seemed to fill the space between them. Garrick's eyes were soft, but didn't leave his sibling's steely glare. He added, in a barely audable tone, "No, not again..."
Her yellow eyes and her slightly bared teeth bore into Garrick, but then, she folded. Turning on her heel, she kicked hard at the soft earth on the banks of the pond. The soil froze, thick, moss-like frost gripping the pawprint in the mud, and the water beyond that, nearly a third of the pond's surface was frozen. The ice cracked and floated freely in the center of the pond as it started to melt under the warm sun, as Mara walked hotly around the far side of the pond.

Hitchaw looked up at the frozen pond,"Great, ma lines frozen." He snapped the string and dived in the water swimming to the far side where Dorsin and Garrick where standing,"She a magic user? I haven't seen many magic users afore, jus Lord Stripetail, theres a magic user if I ever did see one."
