What? This jewel? Tibb said as he tossed it into the air. Catching it before closing his hands over it. Unless they wanted another gem in Taggles possesion he had what they were looking for. Well Mange ye gonna finish this fight or run aroun' after a dibbun like the coward you are.

Sidewinder hissed in pain as the spear nicked him. The cursed rabbits kick to his chest made him lose his breath until he hardly connected with the solid ground with the back of his head. Dazed and stunned for a moment, Sidewinder gasped for breath and rose up to his full height, shaking his head to clear his mind. It didn't took him long to realise, that he lost his blade during the process, lying a short distance away from him. However, the rabbit was already advancing again and the snake realised that he had no time to pick it up. Sidewinder would have to relly on his natural weapons to finish this. Gritting his venomous teeth in a feral hiss, the snake solely focused his attention on the rabbit, then charged.

Mange watched the fox run after the jewel the mouse was holding. He put a paw tiredly to his face. "Tibbarius...you don't know what you're dealing with. I'll tell you what. If you hand over the jewel...I'll tell you where I've hidden your parents."

If I remember correctly I am sure ye said my parents were dead. The mouse spoke in a dangerously low tone as the fox ran toward him. Although his attention was on Mange. I can't really believe a word ye said can I? You could have them hidden away somewhere. However I don't believe that the cat that owns the castle where they were forced to spend their lives in servitude. Would allow slaves to leave the island. Especialy since my escape. So do you have any proof? He finished off as he side stepped Kreedith & aimed a kick right for his head.

Gia's steps, though direct, were uneven and ran with small rivulets of blood. It darkened the fabric of his jerkin, and ran hot down his side. He had no breath to waste on words now, and with a strained gasp, sent a fist foreward into Sidewinder's jaw.

Taggle shrugged, then continued eating. He was famished.

Mange smiled. "Proof, my friend? Of course I have proof." With that, Mange reached into his pocket and pulled out a peice of cloth. If just anyone would look at it, it would just be a regular peice of cloth. But Mange had ripped this off of the struggling body of his mother as he threw her into a deep pit. A pit that wasn't too far from here.

The rabbit's fist connected soundly with Sidewinder's jaw, though the snake was to determined to be stopped by this. He pushed himself on and crashed into the rabbit, knocking both of them to the ground. Using the opportunity of the rabbit's blood loss and his confused state, the snake quickly coiled himself around him into a strong grip. "For a warmblood, you have not been that bad." He hissed into the rabbits ear, shortly before he ended their struggle by impaling his venomous teeth into the rabbit's neck, once, twice and a final time.

Gia kicked hard, but Sidewinder was too close, and his hold on him too tight. The hare's kicks scratched up the dirt and leaves, and he pushed in vane at the snake's body. "Dammit.." He gasped, as his paws slid again from the adder's slick side. Unable to draw breath, Gia was helpless to defend himself against hte adder's bite. The hare flinched in silence, gritting his teeth as he felt the venom enter his body like a cold breeze. Within a few moments it was over and the old hare lay still, his neck swollen groutestly.

Sidewinder let go of the deceased rabbit, rubbing his jaw which still ached slightly from the rabbits hit. He considered retrieving his sword, but quickly remembered the little crowd of otters nearby and instantly dismissed it. He turned towards them, crossing his arms in front of his teeth and flicking his tongue to taste the air. The situation he was in, unarmed and surrounded, didn't really appeal to him and he was growing nervous. However, he hid his growing tension well behind his natural, expressionless face.

Forgetting the fox Tibb charged at mange. Anger now boiling over as he was ready to strike down Mange. However he slid to a stop. Why do you want the jewel so bad? Why should I even trust you would tell me where they are & how do I know they are still alive? I have no reason to trust a slave driver & I will not help you hurt these beasts.

Mange sneered, waving the peice of cloth around teasingly. "Who said I was going to harm them? The jewel is a key, you see. In the Abbey, there is a secret passage that opens up when that key is inserted...revealing...well, I don't know what it reveals. But I really want to find out, mouse. And, if the legend is true, it will lead to the fall of the Abbey and the birth of a great empire."

As Luca came into thte clearing, he slowled to a walk, breathing heavily. He pushed his way through Hitchaw's otters and looked past Sidewinder at Gia. The fox stared for a moment, putting it together in his head. he had just been walking beside Gia an hours ago, speaking with him.. The shock of seeing his accosiate slain so brutally, snapped the fox's cool pateince. he turned to the nearest otter, snapping savagely. "What has happened here?!"
