The Usual Stuff:
Name: Shatterpaw Silvertail
Species: Fox (Unknown Subspecies)
Age: Equivalent to 17 human years
Gender: Female
Homeland: Far beyond Mossflower
Physical Description:
Body, Fur and Markings: Shatterpaw derives her name from her right fore-paw. It is shorter than the other, and it is in an odd, twisted shape that makes it seem mangled painfully. This paw is a solid dark grey, with the middle claw differing by being a creamy white color. The grey color continues up her foreleg to her elbow joint, where it fades away into the same creamy white shade that tips her claw. The rest of her main body color is this dusky white, and her main markings - her two ears, her muzzle, and her hindpaws - are the same dark grey as her mangled paw. Her tail, however, has a long, pale grey, almost silver streak starting at the base and continuing to the tip, whisping away from the main streak like smoke. Shatterpaw's eyes are two differing colors - one is a cold silvery grey, and it seems to look deep within your soul when she looks at you, deriving the stuff and circumstance that made you. The other eye is a deep, rich yellow color, which reflects warmth and joy, and can usually be seen with a smile sparkling beneath the surface.
Clothing and Jewellry: Shatterpaw usually wears only a dark grey tunic, belted at the waist, and reaching her knee joints. The top of this tunic has frilled sleeves, which drop down like rose petals around her arms. In her ears are two silver hoops, each spearing a small, glittering ruby. On her mangled forepaw she wears no jewelry, but on her other paw she wears an aged and tarnished silver ring, and two rather tight bangles that look as if they were put on when she was a Dibbun and left to grow into her paw. Around her neck hangs a thin silver chain that is looped through an amulet shaped like the crescent moon.
Weapons: Through the belt that holds her tunic in place, an axe, with the look of something that has the beginnings of a halbird, is buckled. This axe has a typical axehead on one side of its handle, but the other curves back into a blunt spike, that is hard and heavy enough to split a few bones if she must. On the other side of her waist is tied a sling, and a pouch of smooth, hard slingstones clacks against her left thigh.
Psychological Profile:
Personality: Due to her mangled forepaw, she is a very submissive and timid beast. However, she is not cowardly, and when faced with immediate danger she will stand her ground and fight bravely. It is to other beasts that she defers, usually keeping her eyes lowered, and her ears tucked. She tends to want to listen, rather than talk, and usually becomes the problem-solver of the group. Her strong, calming voice has been rumored to soothe beasts lost in the Bloodwrath, and she always has a kind word for anybeast who needs one.
Main Psychological Strength: A natural comforter, Shatterpaw instinctively knows which beasts need company, which are lonely, which need a friend, and which to leave alone. Thus, she hardly ever says the wrong thing to anyone, and is able to take tension out of otherwise dangerous situations.
Main Psychological Weakness: Very selfconcious, any nasty or hurtful remark, even if it was just in a passing joke, she tends to think is aimed toward her. This often has devastating effects on the young fox, and she'll withdraw for hours, even days, as she tries to figure out what she had said or done to cause the otherbeast to wish her harm or malice. During these times she is rather defenseless, and often has to be in immediate danger before she'll snap out and attempt to rescue herself from whatever perilous situation she had gotten herself into.
Abilities:
Skills and Strengths: Since she is in constant pain from her disfigured paw, she has become very adept with herbalism and healing arts. She knows which plants cause soothing effects, and often can pick out just the right amount of specific herb for a certain job. She also, due to her paw, has become rather efficient with her onehanded weapon, and her accuracy with a sling is quite good. Again, due to her disability, she has a very high tolerance for pain, since she has been in pain her entire life with her throbbing paw.
Weaknesses: Her left paw is weak physically, and it constantly aches and pains. Thus, if she gets into a situation where she must use this side of her body for anything, she is almost completely helpless. She can only use items and weapons with her right paw, which leaves her defenseless if being held by the right side. She also is very sensitive to changes in light, and is often seen squinting because of her almost colorless eye, which causes her pain to be in overly-bright situations.
Other:
History: Shatterpaw recieved her mangled left forepaw when she was just a Dibbun. She fell from the high cliff-face that her mother's den was situated upon. When she landed, her entire body weight fell on her left forepaw, shattering every bone in that limb. These bones never really healed right, and she has been in constant agony from the injury ever since. She was found, in a faint, at the bottom of the cliff by a family of moles, and was raised by them deep in their underground tunnels. This added to her aversion to light, and helped her become fluent in most dialects. One of the moles was a great herbalist, keeping her own herb garden. This mole taught her all there was to know about healing and hurtful plants. Upon her coming of age, she became to wonder what happened to her family, so she took off wandering Mossflower, looking for the horde that her parents joined up in. Her life with the moles gave her a more woodlandish outlook on life than a vermin one, but she still felt that she needed to find her parents, and let them know she was still alive. Unknowingly, she stumbled upon a group of beasts near a mine...
