Bravespirit started slightly at the sound of Taggle's voice, and her thoughts skidded to a halt. Almost as soon as the badger recovered, the cheerful spark returned to her dark eyes, and a friendly smile spread across her face. "Wot yourself! Ye' been sleepin' like a hedge'og mate. Great seasons, how does a mite so little make that big o' snore?." She teased. Now that Bravespirit was relatively sure that she and Taggle were safe, it was time for her immaturity to kick in. How fun. Well, I gotta keep myself from thinkin' about Momma and Papa, and if Loyal's safe. The badger told herself, inwardly smiling wryly. Eh, Loyal isn't the type t' jump into things, he'll be fine. She thought. If only she knew what her twin was doing now.

" I don't snore!" he protested".....do I?" he yawned, stretching his arms and legs, but stopped mid stretch, wincing, and held his arm. " it hurts." he said

(Check my edited post above.)
Cody was in shock. The badger saved his life. As did the otter. He had three close calls in the span of a minute. He was still a young hare. Inexperienced in battle. He was now angry. His inexperience could cost the badger his life. He didn't want that to happen. He backed up to get a good view of the serpants. Readying himself in case the badger was not able to beat them.

(XD Loyal had enough, could ya' tell Tibb?)
Bravespirit chuckled, a low sound from deep in her chest. She shook her striped head, which was, instead of pure white, was tinged with silver fur, something she had inherited from her Mother. "Nay, ya' don't. I was only teasin'." She explained, smiling slightly. Normally she did not let someone know she was teasing, but with babes it was a little different. "Ya' hardly made a sound." The badger assured Taggle, winking one dark eye. Bravespirit's smile disappeared as the otterbabe winced, and was replaced by a thoughtful frown. "Aye, I wager it does. That's why it's important you don't move it, all right?" The badger said, a bit of the hardly-ever-seen serious side of her making a last stand.

Bravespirit turned and faced the direction she had came, which also was the direction Hitchaw left. "I know, but until we figger out how t' get the arrow out, you shouldn't move it 'cause that might force the arrow deeper 'n your arm." The badger explained, wincing slightly at the idea of removing the arrow. Even thinking about it sounded painful, and it was awful that it had to happen to a little one like Taggle. "Hitchaw..." For a moment the otter's name escaped Bravespirit, but she quickly recovered. "The otter! He went t' go help me brother and hare deal with those bandits." Bravespirit said. "Is he your Papa Tagg?" Bravespirit suddenly asked, tipping her head to one side.

(O.o Erm...D'OH! Earthy goofed...sorry!)
Bravespirit felt a bit foolish for asking the question after Taggle answered. 'Papa's gone?' Does that mean...? The badger thought, trying to decipher what that meant exactly. The conclusion she came to from Taggle's solemn response was that the otterbabe's Father was dead. Poor little mite. Bravespirit thought, and she nodded slightly, showing the babe she understood. "Oh...I see. I'm sorry Tagg." The badger said quietly, and her dark eyes glinted with understanding. Only me'n Loyal were older then 'im when Momma and Papa were slain...still, I s'pose our situations are similar. She thought, adjusting how she held Taggle a little bit so she could move a little easier.

Bravespirit was caught off-guard by Taggle's question, and she hesitated before answering. "All beasts got, or at least had, a Momma and Papa, so aye, I had a Momma and Papa..." The badger trailed off, wondering if she should explain that she too, was orphaned. Nay, best t' keep that t' myself unless he asks. Bravespirit reasoned, and moved on to the 'where did you live?' question. "I lived lots o' places. My family were travelers see, an' didn't stay in one place for more then a few days. Then we'd move on." The badger said, smiling slightly at the memory of moving to place to place. Several times she and her twin had wanted to stay at a certain place, but it never happened.

Bravespirit's dark eyes wandered to the sky, and she thought for a moment before answering. "He was big and strong, but awful gentle with everybeast." She said, and looked back down at Taggle. "He had these sharp eyes that seemed t' snap at ya' when he talked t' ya'. An' always had a serious expression...and a deep voice. Kind of like this..." Bravespirit's expression turned firm and serious as she did an imitation of her Father. "Bravespirit, Loyalheart! Quit bickering this instant!" The badger lowered her voice until it sounded deep and rough, the way she remembered Swiftblade's voice. Bravespirit allowed her features to go back to normal, and she grinned at Taggle.

(I'll bet...poor liddle Tagg!)
Bravespirit felt her heart go out to Taggle. "Well, if it helps t' know, I think I'm startin' t' forget my Momma and Papa to." The badger said, hiding the sadness in her voice as best she could. She tipped her striped head to one side at the mention of a holt. There are lots o' holts 'round here...which one is 'e referrin' to? Bravespirit thought, and, once again, her curiosity got the better of her. "A holt eh? Which one?" The badger asked, not realizing the otterbabe did not come from Mossflower. 'e might not even remember though. She told herself, reminding herself he was still young. It seemed the more Bravespirit learned about Taggle's background, the want to learn more grew.
