"What's going on here?!" A loud, low female voice boomed from beyond the trees. Bravespirit had seen the three suddenly turn on the young otter, and decided it was time to step in. The youngster's dark eyes watched the shrike, fox and toad. Huh, bandits! Always teaming up against the little ones. She thought bitterly. The badger was not going to allow them to see her, or at least she would not try to, no, not yet. Bravespirit held her old, reliable dirk in her large paw, ready to throw it if things got bad. The badger's dark eyes had lost their normal cheerful spark, and now were narrowed dangerously from her hiding spot in the trees, glinting with fierce hatred for these three bandits.
