Bravespirit tried not to flinch, but was unsuccessful and her body twitched very slightly. "Kill us? Even if we were th' children of a King or Lord, and our blood would mean somethin', you wouldn't harm us. Afta all, wot have we done t' you other then defend ourselves and our family from your sharp tongue, eh riverdog?" The young badger commented, her dark eyes betraying slight fear. It was finally clicking in her simplistic mind that Erebus was not, or at least that was what she was getting, a goodbeast. "A knight? Are they not the very symbols of chivalry and honor?" The youngster challenged, still sticking to her belief that anybeast who claimed to be a warrior or knight was good of heart.
Loyalheart's dark eyes were fixed on the back of the otter's head, where he thought Erebus' eyes were. This otter was not the goodbeast he had appeared to be at first glance, and the young male wavered in slight fear. He did not know much about the ways of battle, as he had lived life as a peaceful traveler. He did not say anything, and let his sister do the talking. Once she was finished, Loyalheart raised his striped head high. "Nay, Master 'Knight'," the badger used his claws for the air quotations. "We will not charge a beast who's back is turned, 'less he or she 'as done somethin' worth fightin' over." The young male badger said flatly, but he kept a paw in the hilt of his rapier.

"Goodbeasts you are then." He sighed,"The honor and chivelry, I remember when I followed those." He reached to his shoulder and unfastened his leather chestplate. It hit the ground and he turned revealing the countless scars all over his body. The scars each came from a different fight and a different weapon."This is why I stopped being honorable. I would have attacked you if your back was turned on me. You learn these on the field of battle. Have you ever killed anybeast, or shown your weapon? Then you are no goodbeast. An if your blood was that of royalty I do not care. I have killed countless princes even a king. You see knights as the heroic beasts that uphold the honor of their king, no?" He didn't wait for an answer but continued."Knights don't care for anyone but themselves, fathers let their sons die on the field of battle with no less then a second glance. If I would have struck you down, do you think the Dark Forest would have given you any honor for your royal blood? NO! It would have put you in the same pit that the other deadbeasts go!" He put his armor back on and looked at them pointong to the scar on his face,"I gave my eye to watch my king take all the glory of the battle, I told him of my valiant acts yet he just spit on me and told me I was not good enough." His voice was filled with hate at the mention of his king,"And my father, he didn't help me at all in battle, he put me to the front of the ranks. He wanted me dead."

Arlan, who had remained calm during all of this finally spoke. " I understand your differences, but if you won't stop fighting I will detain all 3 of you." he said. And with his massive size and humongus broadsword, he could do it too. ( srry bout shortness of post and not posting in a while. lol)

"You think you could stop me? I've noticed your wounds, they would slow you down. You wouldn't realize it until the last moment too. I wouldn't fight with them, and if i did I would have used non-lethal techniques." He laughed looking at Arlan's sword,"I'm faster then I look, before you hit me with that sword I would have been behind you, ready for the kill."

Arlans sword was out and at erebus's throat before he moved. " maybe in an otters body, but you forget I am a badger." there was a dangerous growl in his throat, his eyes cold.

Erebus kicked sand into the air and was already behind Arlam. Drizzt's tip was pressed slightly into the wound on Arlan's back,"I was merely stating somthing, like I said, I would have used non-lethal techniques. But if youpush me, I may just kill you. I have fought many an enemy stronger and faster then you. It would be a quick battle." He sighed sheathing Drizzt,"But I have no intention of fighting you or the youngsters. I just stated facts."

Tha badger showed no grat concern. " there is a difference between stating the facts and taking your anger out on innocent young'uns!...We all have issues, but don't take then out on others. I will not burden you with the..less than pleasent.. side of my past." he said. The otter was a hothead, much like his father. He knew how to ride out the storm. " and please never put your sword into my wounds again, or i will snap it."

Bravespirit's dark eyes showed fear, but foolish defiance as well. "Ya' missed th' point." She grunted flatly, but decided not to comment on the rest of the otter's speech. The young badger listened to Arlan, and for once decided she was going to obey. To help herself with not speaking, the female bit her tongue slightly, something she had done when she was getting in trouble with her parents and would be in even deeper trouble if she spoke up. Bravespirit watched as Erebus pointed the sword slightly into Arlan's back, and she held her tongue between her teeth so hard she could taste blood, willing herself to remain silent. Wot is his problem anyways? She thought, referring to the otter.
Loyalheart winced at the sight of Erebus' scars, but he gained the courage to speak. "I allus thought nothin' came from wars 'cept death, blood, hatred and broken lives. You," the male badger spoke softly, and gestured to the otter. "Are a perfect example o' that, and 'tis a sad thing." The young male continued to speak in a low, non-threatening tone. "Though it ain't your fault, I can see you was never taught nothin' but those things." Loyalheart murmured, deciding that if arguing would not work, and it obviously was not, he could try and calm himself, his sister and Erebus down. The young male badger was not a coward, he just did not see the point in fighting over a few harsh words.

" war is a tragedy. But the rest of your life doesn;t have to be" he said, turning to face Erebus. he thought vaguely of knocking erebus out, just to get some peace. Battle had taken its toll on both of them, physically and mentally. Arlan could slay without blinking. He was sure Erebus was the same.

Bravespirit looked at her twin brother in surprise, amazed that he had spoken up while she had been quiet. Well, that was certainly a change in routine. The young female released her tongue and realized how hard she had bitten it to keep from talking. Shows how much ya' likes to talk don't it? She thought wryly. The youngster would have chuckled at herself, but this was nor the time neither the place for it. "Loyal is right...we can't blame ya' behavior on ya' I s'pose." Bravespirit said, her normally loud, attention-grabbing voice lowered to the point it was soft and barely audible. The youngster nodded her silver-tinged striped head in agreement with Arlan.
Loyalheart looked at his sister gratefully, glad that she had decided to cool down. Thank the seasons she didn't decide to keep going! The young male thought, as he had feared a fight if the argument went to a higher level. Again, Loyalheart was not a coward, he simply did not like the idea of fighting. Over exchanging harsh words or anything else. Part of this was because he lived life peacefully, another part was that it was simply not in his nature, and the last part, was because he was still young, barely a adolescent. He too, nodded in agreement with Arlan. "Whether you were mistreated, abandoned or orphaned, your life ain't over 'till it's over." Loyalheart added, his dark eyes calm.

"Thats not true, my life was over a long time ago. It ended when I started in my first war." He shook his head,"I'm sorry for my actions, I just jumped at it fiercely." He lowered his head turning towards the boat he looked to the sky."I just want to go there." He whispered so that only he heard.

" that was only only one chapter in many chapters of your life. You life is not over and you can be happy, no matter what you think." Arlan said. " anyway.. where should we head? I really don;t know this territory..."

Bravespirit looked back curiously at Loyalheart, and could not help but smile ever so lightly at him, knowing almost right away it was because he was glad she had kept her mouth shut. The young female shrugged lightly at Erebus' apology, and receiving a sudden nudge in her side looked to see that her brother was looking expectantly at her. "Er...I'm sorry too sah, I 'ave a loose tongue and don't think about wot I say before I say et." Bravespirit apologized softly, looking down at her footpaws, clasping her paws behind her back and shuffling about a bit nervously, a normal position for her to take when saying she was sorry. Silverstripe's daughter looked up at Arlan, then looked at Loyalheart, knowing he knew more about the subject.
Loyalheart did not respond to Bravespirit's look and smile, and simply looked back at Erebus when he spoke again. Shrugging, the young male sighed very softly. "'ave et your way, I don't want t' argue with ye' anymore." Loyalheart said simply, prodding his twin lightly and flashing her a look before appearing to be innocent again. Swiftblade's son nodded in satisfaction when Bravespirit apologized, then looked up at Arlan, his intelligent dark eyes slightly eager to show what he knew. "There's a liddle stream over yonder that way." Loyalheart motioned away and a bit right of where they were standing. "There's some 'erbs growing around there that I think might help with those injuries sah Arlan."

" thank ye," the badger said, and walked off near the stream, stooping down to gather various herbs and such.
