"Most unfortunate. Come. There's a concil meeting about to take place." The turned to Jako. "Are you coming? You could tell them about what's going on at the castle, especially because your Justin's uncle." Jako looked to the wolf, then back to the marten. "Yes, I'll come. I have much to tell the council, and I've never seen my nephew." The marten turned to the wolf. "Are you coming to this meeting, Master...?" The marten waited for the wolf to reply.

Erebus pulled Drizzt from the skull of a rat and looked at the other bodies."Damn them." He pulled an arrow out of his shoulder, one out of his gut and looked at the wound caused by a dagger."You shouldn't sneak up on people." He wiped the blood off Drizzt and stepped foreword he fell to one knee in pain,"Ahhhhh, they were crazy, they, destroyed the ships." He knew that the pain he felt was probably a broken rib, or two. He stood up and shuffled over to a tree, he drew the Eye of Balor and sliced off a branch. He took a few minutes with a dagger he picked off a dead weasel to carve it into a makeshift crutch. He leaned on it and walked in the way the vermin had come from. He stopped and looked towards the horizon, admiring it."This place is harsh and cruel. But it has its good points." He groaned and walked foreword, stumbling he looked down at the dagger wound, blood was running freely down his side. He shook his head, he was feeling lightheaded and his sight was blurring,No, losing to much blood. Must go on have to find my fath.... He collapsed and fell to the ground, blood already pooling around him,"Must go on..." He pushed on the ground to lift himself but only succeeded in opening the wound farther."AHHHHHHH!" He screamed not in pain, but i aggravation. He cursed himself for being weak.

Broga GrayDawn sat in the high branches of a sturdy oak watching what was happening below. This was her favorite way to view the world, far above where no one would judge her for her size. Broga was small for a squirrel and was often confused for a youngster. She had been in the oak since early that morning and had watched as a band of escaped slaves fled from the pursuing guards. Now those guards were dead or had fled themselves. The only creature that stirred now distubing the forests tranquility was the wounded creature below her as he screamed and staggered around. "Might well be sociable." Broga mummbled to herself as she made her way down the oak. For her small size she bounded effortlessly from branch to branch until she made it to the ground, maliciously landing on the otter's back. "Hey, numbskull...stop shoutin' or you'll wake the dead." Broga laughed calously....

Bane nodded stoutly. "Yes sir," he gave a perfunctory bow, "I thank you for including me in this.. and I hesitate to ask what I've gotten myself into," his eyes, though cold, were still bright and tireless. He really didn't mind an adventure, he'd embrace it, along with any plunder and sweet cool drink that came along with it.
He clapped Jako on the shoulder, and smiled up at the stern looking creature. "Lead the way my friend."

"The Grand hall is this way." The marten lead Jako and the wolf through the village to a hole that looked like to the entrance to a cave. After they had went a good ways into the cave, it went from a dirty-ish, rocky tunnel into what looked like the basement of a castle. "We carved this directly into the ground, so naturally, we don't need that much fire in winter." The party walked past several statues, including one abnormally life-like otter. Shortly after, an extra set of footsteps could be heard, then a pair of paws covered the marten's eyes and a strained voice. "Reveal thy name." The marten started shouting in annoyance. "Johnathon, you birdbrain! Get your paws of me." Johnathon quickly stepped back. "Okay, Okay. It's just a joke. I didn't mean any harm. The council meeting's already started. Come on." Johnathon lead the three to a large, well decorated door, with gold framing.

Erebus looked at the squirrel and sighed," The dead wake for no one. They sleep eternally in an endless dream." He shook his head,"But one as young as you need not know this." He tried to figure an age by the height of Broga."Still, do you know where theres someone who can help me with my...AH...wounds?" He could barely keep awake the blood leaving his body weak and his head light. Darkness was already starting to cloud his view and he was burning all over.great, I'm about to lose conciseness in a foreign, possibly hostile land. He waited for Broga's answer hoping it came before he lost consciousness.

On the contrary, the dead can awaken, if you know what to say. And you, my friend , need medical attention" Came a voice behind him. Out of the brush came an older-looking squirrel. In one paw he held a large staff, and he was dressed in robes that appeared to be that of an order.

"Ah, but that would be magic, and that is a forbidden art for warrior class beasts where I come from." he struggled to look at the other squirrel but only caused the wound to open a little more."I would give you the...AHH...privledge of seeing my face but...AHHH...my wounds prevent me from looking." His eyes seemed to dim a little and he let out a sigh,"Funny, I've had worse wounds.
<Flashback>
Erebus stood in the front lines with the low-class troops, he was there to raise spirit in the troops, their enemies numbers far surpassed their own. But, the Knights of the Rose were far better equipped. Erebus was sweating, the enemy were fierce, they were larger and more powerful than any troop in their ranks. He looked over at one of the soldiers, he was shaking, it was clearly visible his sword was tapping against his armor. "Calm yourself, you need not worry. They have one way to come from, that is in front of us." Erebus had never seen the enemy they were fighting but he had a feeling they were safe. He looked around and shook his headThis area is perfect for them to ambush us. He stared at the steep walls on either side of them,"We could be in trouble in this canyon." He whispered this to himself. He turned to look at the ranks in the back and sighed, before he could say anything there was a screech and a scream. He looked into the sky and saw the enemy, a eagles, one had picked up the soldier he had just talked to and was already killing him in the air."RAISE YOU PIKES TO THE SKY!!" He yelled as loud as he could, but most of the soldiers were petrified by fear. He turned in time to see an eagle lunging at him, he felt its talons sink deep. He screamed as the eagle started pecking and biting at his arm, he drew Drizzt and jammed it into the eagle's eye. The eagle screeched letting go of him, the only thing holding him to the eagle was Drizzt. His body weight pulled the blade down slicing through the eagle's head. He fell landing on the dead body of a soldier of his army, the body's armor breaking his already wounded arm,"AHHHHH!" He stood up, his left arm hanging limp at his side. He slashed up at an eagle catching its claws. The bird turned and was about to kill him when Kalthropes, a huge otter with a scar on his right cheek, leaped towards the eagle and jammed his spear through is head,"Watch it boy, or your head will be smashed inta tiny peices." He left his spear drawing his double bladed axe and lunged into the fro once more. Erebus stood dumbfounded before hearing the scream and looking up to see a soldier crash down atop him, knocking him out. He awoke in a tent his father and their healers."His ribs are broken, his arm is broken, and I can't begin to tell if he has internal damage are not!" "What does it mean?" "He can't fight for at least a month." "NO!" Erebus shouted at the healer,"These are minor, I can walk and fight within the week." "You will die." "Then I die a warrior." "You will die a fool."
<Present>
"I survived to die a warrior someday." He coughed and sighed,"But with how I have pushed my-self to impress my father won't help here will it?"

Opening the door, Jonathon, Jako, the marten and the wolf went inside the council room, where much was being debated. An elderly looking squirrel was the current one speaking. "We cannot just arouse an army to take back the castle. It's just too dangerous." Some of the other council members nodded in agreement. A mouse, younger than the rest, stood up. "We can't just let our enemies have it." The mouse noticed the new entrees. "Welcome back, Johnathon and Marcus. How did it go?" The marten, whose name had been revealed as Marcus, nodded towards the wolf. "This wolf somehow managed to free a group of slaves, including Justin's uncle, Jako." The squirrel looked at the elderly fox. "It can't be him. He was supposed to have died when Excervum took the castle. If he IS Jako, he will have a silver cross on his back." Indicating that the fox should show them his back, he was about to turn, when Marcus interrupted. "I checked that myself already, and if you don't believe me, ask the wolf." The squirrel looked at the wolf, then sat down. "No need for that. You've never lied to us before, and you've known him longer than us." Another council member, an otter, turned to the wolf. "Thanks for freeing what slaves you could, Master....?"

I don't care if magic is forbidden where you coime from, because we're not there, are we?" the squirell replied. " He came forward and put his paw on the wounds on Erebus's legs. 'i am a healer, and a Seer as well. Healus" he intoned and the wounds on began too slowly heal. Then put his paw to the wounds on Erebus's face, and then his back and said the same thing. He turned to Broga. " My name is Stripetail. Lord Stripetail" He said with a smile and you are...?"he asked.

Broga felt a great sense of indignence swell within her at being though of a mere child. Haughtily she stomped around Erebrus as the other squirrel healed him, her mood gradually growing sourer. "How dare you," Broga started, unable to with hold her fury anymore."How dare you mistake me for some naive youngster! I am Broga GrayDawn and don't you dare think of treating me like some impudent whelp. I have seen 45 seasons and by the gates of Dark Forest I will see 45 more. I'm no youngling, I'm probably old enough to be your mother if you were a squirrel!"
Still mumbling curses and disdains, Broga made her way up to the lowest branch of the oak she had been in earlier...

"Much obliged, but magic is not fully forbidden, only those like you seers and healers are allowed to learn it." He looked at Broga," Sorry for insulting you, my head was in shambles." He stood up and rubbed his shoulder, it ached once in awhile."Your magic won't heal this wound fully I'm afraid." He showed Stripetail the scar on his shoulder," It was done with an enchanted ax, it never really fully heals." He stretched his arms, his muscles showing clearly."Now I have to ask, have you seen an otter with dark brown fur carrying a shield with a rose on it? This may help a little more, he has an eye-patch were his right eye used to be, and his one good eye is steel grey. He goes by the name Scylop." He looked at Stripetail and turned around hearing a twig snap in the woods.
Redstripe stepped into the clearing and looked around,"Well if it ain't Lord Stripetail!" he walked over to Erebus and Stripetail,"Ow long as it been mate? I avn't kept count. An whos this fella?" He looked at Erebus,"Ain't never seen an otter like em, an that symbol I ave seen it only once before." He scratched his head and shrugged,"A well, any friend o Stripetail's is a friend of mine." He turned and looked around,"Hey Stripetail did you see that castle over yonder, there are slaves everywhere, it really burned me up. But the guards were everywhere looking for some escaped slaves...at least thats what I was 'told' by a rat I picked up." He looked at Erebus," You know anything mate?"
Erebus looked at Redstripe,"You've seen a Rose Knight symbol! Where?" He looked at Redstripe,"Was it an otter? Maybe my father or some of our men made it to shore!" He then shook his head,"No, the men are dead, I forget that. But my father is still alive."

"One's head doesn't need to be on straight to insult me." Broga hissed softly before streatching out on the branch to watch the group below. Although it was nt long before she rmembered something that she had seen earlier. "I do remember watchin' a wolf running with some escaped slaves earlier before numbskull here just about got himself killed. I could lead you to where they went if you wish." she said non chelantly...

Thank you broga' Stripetail smiled up at her. "Why don't you come along withus? It would be good to have your company. He then turned to Redstripe."it's been a long time my friend indeed. What brings you here? Adventure no doubt" He chuckled. He turned toErebus "As for your shoulder wound my friend, it may never fully heal, but that doesn't mean you should let it fester."

"Fine, fine. As long as I get the respect I'm due." Broga answered, not bothering to get up. They seemed to be in no hurry and neither was she. Broga knew that few actually respected her due to her slight size and it had soured her temperment over the seasons...
