The hare slowed down noticing that there was nothing following them at the moment. "Well, ya kind...well...uh." The hare tried to explain the situation but only managed to fumble with his words. "Never mind sa. I don' think they are that far away. We should see the others any minute now."

Taggle saw the badger and hare comeing back. " look over dere!" he saidm and pointed in the direction they were. Arlan looked to where Taggle was pointing.. and it was like looking at a mirror-image of himself. Different weapon, but same face, same build.

(XD Seeing triple (('cause don't forget Brave and Loyal are twins)) eh?)
Bravespirit thought a moment, trying to figure out how to explain what had happened to Taggle without making Arlan seem like the bad guy. "Well uh...he," she motioned to Arlan. "Knew how to take care of that arrow and er...didn't want to hurt you by taking it out while you were awake and..." The young badger trailed off and blinked, trying to figure out how to say it. Bravespirit was saved by the bell, so to speak, when Taggle pointed to her brother and a unknown hare. Relief, both from the idea that she did not have to explain, and that her brother looked unharmed, flooded through her. Bravespirit greeted them both with a nod. "Ah, good, ya' dinna get yourself hurt." She teased.
Loyalheart blinked in confusion as the hare fumbled with his words, as the young badger did not understand anything he said. "I kinda...what?" He asked, glad that the hare had slowed down, as he was bulky and did not enjoy traveling at a fast pace. The badger gave Cody a strange look, but decided not to ask anymore questions. "Please don't call me sa, my name is Loyalheart. Loyal for short." The male badger said quietly, wondering what this peculiar hare's name was. But again, he did not say anything about it. Loyalheart looked in the direction of Taggle's voice, and saw Arlan. The young badger blinked in confusion, as it was like looking at his own reflection. Though this badger was a bit older.

"Yes sa, Loyal Sa." Cody said not paying any attention to the fact that he said sa to Loyalheart twice in the same sentance. He had grown up respecting all badgers. With the proud history of serving Badger Lords in the family of Long Patrol hares. He then saw Taggle. " 'Ello young chap. Wot kind of welcome ya 'ave fer Cody Swift an' Loyal'eart the snake slayers. A blinkin' amazin' tale of bravery." Cody said ready to create some far off yarn about their encounters with the snakes.

Bravespirit almost immediately took a liking to Cody, and a silly smile spread across her striped muzzle. "Great seasons, snakes? My, my, my..." The young female shook her head in mock amazement, the silver that tinged the white stripe on her head very faintly catching the sunlight and making the silver more apparent. She was trying to look serious but unable to hide her smile. "An' y' slew 'em? Boy, Loyal ain't that th' first time ya' ever actually had t' use that rapier o' yours?" Bravespirit teased, using her free paw to ruffle her younger-by-10-minutes brother's small, round ears. So glad you're all right brother. She added silently, but her dark eyes expressed it almost as clearly as if she had said it.
Loyalheart was about to correct Cody again when the hare greeted his sister the the otterbabe, and he decided it was better to let the hare call him what he wanted. The young male badger almost instantly caught on to the joke, and he puffed up his growing-broader chest importantly. "Nay sister, I dinna use my rapier. We did it bare-pawed! Dinna we mate?" Loyalheart said, using a low, grave tone of voice. His dark eyes flicked to Cody, and he could not hide the twinkle of amusement in his eyes. It was not normal for the youngster to joke around like this, but he needed to relax a bit after all that excitement. The young male caught his twin's look, and he nodded slightly in acknowledgment.

Taggle, to young to know better, was amazed. " how biga wassa snakes?" he asked, turning from Arlan to Loyal and squirming in brave's paws. Arlan smiled. The other badger had warriors blood in him. That was good to know. Especially since he was his mirror image.

"As big as a ragin' river they was. " Cody started not really caring about how stupid he sounded. Or how bad he was embarrassing himself. He was still shaken up a bit from the many narrow misses. Telling tall tails always made him feel better. When he saw he had an intrigued audience with the otter babe. A smile came across his lips. Still being a youngster himself. He knew how dibbuns loved a good yarn. With Cody being a Hare he enjoyed telling one.
"There were two of 'em. With breath as foul as forty, fat, filthy, fidgity, flat footed frogs, wot wot!" He started the story. "Wit two slitted eyes as dark as tha night sky. Colder then ice they was. T'was a fearsome sight fer any beast ta see. So fearsome that yer eyes could not stand ta look upon ''em. "

" den how's you kill's dem?" Taggle asked spellbound. Arlan looked on in interest. His hares up north had often done this, spinning yarns. He knew he was exxadurating hugely.

"Well 'twas tough goin' at first. They lunged at us with the ferocity of a hundred scorr of rats. I had just dodged a thousand arrers an' did not see the snakes come from beh'n me. They lunged at me..." The air paused for dramatic effect. "Loyal'eart let out a roar that quaked the earth un'er my very own paw, 'e did. He then delivered a punched to the nose of one of the great monsters. knocking the fans right outa tha great beast."

Bravespirit kept up her act as the hare continued the story, looking from Cody to her brother in amazement. "Great seasons, me liddle ol' brother 'as warrior blood in him if he did that, so he does!" The young female exclaimed, allowing her gaze to rest on Loyalheart, her dark eyes twinkling in amusement. The young badger knew her twin really could not do such a thing. Even if he wanted to, Loyalheart was still fairly young and did not have a voice with the ability to "shake the very earth under paw", and did not possess the strength yet to "knock the fangs" out of a snake as large as they described. Still, I s'pose Tagg's believin' it all. Bravespirit thought with a smile.
Loyalheart was a good actor, and kept his grave, serious look as Cody told some of the made-up story. When he was mentioned, the young male was slightly startled, as he had not expected his name to be mentioned. But he hid his surprise well, and added a bit to the hare's yarn. "Aye, an' huge fangs they was too! Big as his sword they was!" Loyalheart said, motioning to Arlan's humongous broadsword with a large paw. But a few sentences here and there was probably all he was going to add to Cody's story, as he was more of a listener then a talker, not to mention the fact he did not consider himself good at telling stories. I can't believe the otterbabe is believin' all this. The youngster thought with a silent chuckle.

Cody looked at Loyalheart. "Never underestimate tha effect o' a good story eh sa?" He whispered to Loyalheart with a wink. He stood back & watched the young otter. A smile formed on his face.
