One can never truly tell, he goes where he pleases" The owl replied. "I don't believe he is at the moment, but he will come if you cause trouble."

Mara didn't reply right away. She took her time, gathering another pawful of moonbeams as she walked slightly ahead of her brother. "... How far to this abby?" She held her paw aloft, trying to get a better look at the owl. The younger wolf was uneasy at not having seen him in decent light yet.

"A ways yet, probably 5 to 8 more miles." The Ol replied.

At the the owls words, Mara bore down on the ground and started to follow at a steady run, her cloak swept out in the moonlight behind her bathed in the slight glow from her paw. Garrick fell into a lope beside her, trotting like a well mannered horse.

They made good time, and soon the owl caught sight of the red abbey walls. "we're nearly there" he called down..

By now Mara was breathing hard, but ever poised, she held her mouth shut and controlled her breaths. She looked up at the owl again, blowing a bead of sweat from her nosetip. "Are you friends with these creatures of the abby?" As she awaited his answer, Garrick shook his thick, beige fur without breaking stride. The clensing shudder seemed to stick on his tail a moment before he sped up, stonefaced and dutiful.

Yes I am, fortunately for you two" The owl said. "I'll fly ahead and tell them you're coming."

"Thank you very much," Garrick slowed to a trot and waved. Mara plodded along and stood doubled over beside her brother, sucking in air greedily.

The Owl flew ahead to the abbey stoping and landing in the courtyard. "A mouse came up to him. "mr tawnus, good to see you. You are lucky, I was just about to head inside. Most of the abbey is in bed."

The two wolves trotted up to the front gate. Garrick stood patiently, as Mara slinked up searching the abby walltop for the owl. "Where'd he go?.." She asked in a hiss, Garrick simply continued to gaze at the main gate calmly.

The gate swung open and the mouse motioned to the two wolvers. "Come on in my friends." He said cheerily.

That's all right. BIc: "you're more than welcome. I'll show you where you'll be staying for the night. If you are hungry I can rouse the cooks to whip you up something to eat. "Above the Owl peared down on the two wolves from his perch on the roof.

Garrick started to ask if the Owl would be coming, but Mara cut him off, and he closed his mouth without argument. "I'd expect a meal," she said haughtily. Behind her, Garrick watched the Owl calmly, as if trying to distance himself from Mara somewhat.
